A short seminar on the occasion of the Day of Songun , the 61st anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership was held by the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK . as part of the KFA UK Action weekend which also saw a successful picket. The seminar was held at 1915 hours at the residence of KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson .
Dr Dermot Hudson introducing the seminar said the Day of Songun is a very important anniversary .
Alan Bolon , KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England made a speech which said in part ‘ Songun politics are also the key to creating the wellbeing of the popular masses ; to train soldiers for all purposes not only for military actions as the imperialist countries do .” He also pointed out that ‘ Why are military issues the most important ? ‘ It is because of the geopolitical position of the Korean peninsula with stress on the DPRK especially because the US and allies in the imperialist countries cannot accept the existence of a socialist state . Moreover they cannot agree to the fact the system of People’s Korea becomes stronger year by year and more developed ; their socialist system is a world success ‘
Dr Dermot Hudson said that the Songun revolutionary leadership of great generalissimo KIM JONG IL started at the historic Seoul Ryu Kyong Su No 105 Tank Division of the KPA on the 25th of August 1960 , 61 years ago . This is known as the Day of Songun in the DPRK . He stressed that it was thanks to Songun that the DPRK could defend its independence against US imperialism . He pointed out that today the sky of People’s Korea is free from foreign military aircraft in it .
Theo Russell CC and Politburo member of the New Communist Party stressed the important international role of the Workers Party of Korea and DPRK saying the DPRK is upholding socialism . He recalled his visit to the DPRK in 2012.
It was agreed to send a message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .
Seminar concluded at 2015 hours.It was followed by KFA UK Day of Songun BBQ.
