A consultative meeting of the officials and experts from the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army, the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant organs was held on August 21 in order to counter the increased illegal intrusions in the recent years by Japan into our economic zone in the East Sea of Korea.
Discussed in terms of gravity at the meeting were the measures for maintaining our maritime jurisdiction within our economic zone in the East Sea of Korea which is marked by the equidistant median lines between Dok Islets of Korea and Dogo Island of Japan and between Dok Islets of Korea and Hegurajima of Japan respectively, and by the boundary lines of the DPRK-Russia economic zone and continental shelf.
