90 years have passed.

The Down-with Imperialism Union formed by President Kim Il Sung on October 17, 1926 left an indelible trace in the history of ever-victorious Korean revolution as it is a historic root of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The day was historic day when the Korean nation, that regarded flunkeyism and dependence on outside forces as their inevitable destiny, put an end to the disgraceful history. And it was the day when they started struggles to be the guards of independence and announced the start of the new era of independence to the world.

The immediate task of the DIU was to defeat Japanese imperialism and achieve the liberation and independence of Korea, and its final objective was to build socialism and communism in Korea and, further, destroy all imperialism and build communism throughout the world.

After the formation of the DIU, the Korean revolution has traversed protracted road of struggle.

Under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the Korean revolution has recorded only victory and honor holding fast to the independent cause of the DIU. Holding high the banner of independence, the Korean people achieved national liberation by their own efforts and defeated the US imperialists who boasted of being “the strongest” in the world with young armed forces. Despite the arbitrariness of the reactionaries including imperialists, revisionists and big power chauvinists, they built a strongest country which the world is envious of with constant idea of independence.

Now the DPRK is demonstrating its grandeur as the world’s unique fortress of justice and independence.

Thanks to the leadership of the WPK, the party of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism succeeding the great tradition of the DIU, the socialist Korea centered on the popular masses is dashing ahead like the wind towards the high eminence of a socialist power. The DPRK, led by Chairman Kim Jong Un, is full of revolutionary spirit and the DPRK people, the guards of independence, are winning victory after victory.

Only victory and glory will be in store for the heroic Korean people who are advancing along the righteous way with red flag of the DIU under wise leadership and warm care of Chairman Kim Jong Un.
