Report of the Meeting “ KIM IL SUNG and the characteristics of Korean style socialism and its success 11.04.2026

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK )and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held a successful meeting in Brixton on the theme of President KIM IL SUNG and the characteristics of Korean style socialism and its success .  In attendance were members of KFA UK and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea  as well people from the progressive and anti-imperialist community in London including the general secretary of the New Communist Party .

The livestream of the meeting was watched by over 800 people .

Dr Dermot Hudson , chairman of KFA UK and chairman of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea introduced the meeting saying that April will see the 114th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG , also the 14th anniversary of the supreme leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  and the 94th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army  and explained that the main theme of the meeting was “President KIM IL SUNG and the Characteristics of Korean style socialism and its success “

A message from the DPRK Embassy  was read out. The message stressed that “Our party, founded by the great leader, is the most authoritative and powerful Juche-oriented revolutionary party, and our army is an invincible Mt. Paektu revolutionary force, and our country is the socialist power centred on the popular masses who is the master of everything.” It also explained that “ Although the United States is now resorting to acts of state-sponsored terrorism and aggression in various parts of the world, its arrogant high-handedness and rashness have failed to undermine the will of progressive mankind to oppose domination and subjugation and achieve independence and equality, but rather triggered off anti-American sentiments and hatred of the forces aspiring after independence, and they are pushing them towards unity and resistance”

The message from comrade Alejandro Cao Be Benos  president of the Korean Friendship Association said in  part

“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea stands as the unshakable pinnacle of success precisely because it has done the opposite. DPRK's leadership is not a transient political office, but the embodiment of the nation’s very soul—a lineage of peerless greatness passed generation after generation. This provides the absolute unity that makes its society an impregnable fortress. The revolutionary military deterrence guarantees the sovereignty, ensuring no external force can dictate its path. By blocking corrupting capitalist influence and holding fast to the self-reliant Juche principles, the glorious DPRK has secured its legacy. The country is thriving as the genuine, victorious model of socialism to be followed by the world's people fighting for justice, independence and equality.”

A message was also received from the secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche and head of Staffordshire KFA UK which said “ The theory and practice of the Great and Respected Leader, President Kim IL Sung continues to inspire generations of revolutionaries on every continent. The Juche Idea is known for its creative essence and is a guide for all progressives who desire an independent world free of imperialism. 

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea shows in practice that a new world of social justice is possible. All the internal and external policies of the DPRK serve the interests of the people in every possible way. People's Korea is perhaps the only country in the world able to stand up and defeat the forces of imperialism. Under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, the DPRK is going from strength to strength after the deliberations of the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.”

Alan Bolon , KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England gave a lecture titled “ KIM IL SUNG and the characteristics

of Korean style socialism and its success”  which explained the ideological and historical criterion of Korean style socialism . Alan stressed that “ On the occasion of the 114th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung birth, we recalling his great achievements.

The achievement and exploits are the premises and foundations of today's successes. Kim Il Sung is the founder of the world's strongest well organized political organization: Workers' Party of Korea. Kim Il sung is the founder of the strongest of the world military power: Korean People's Army, and also before all is the founder of the current Asian superpower, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

President Kim Il Sung led in his exploits led to victory two wars ( the Anti - Japanese War of 1930 - 45 and the Korean War against American imperialism of 1950 - 53 ). 

It was Kim Il Sung, who defeated two strong imperialist countries: Japan and the US, and initiated successfully two massive and complex social revolutions – the anti - imperialist and anti - feudal revolution and the socialist revolution.

Under Kim Il Sung leadership, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which was a backward state with a colonial - feudal society and a typically agrarian state, was transformed in into a powerful socialist and highly industrialized state, politically independent, economically self - reliant, and capable of self - defense, possessing a nuclear arsenal, which is unmatched anywhere in the world. 

Thanks to Kim Il Sung for the first time in world history, an original system of the Korean style socialism was put into practice, the system with man at its center and it was also result of historical achievements of the President Kim Il Sung.

Alan concluded that “ The Korean style of socialism has achieved historic success, the Korean style of socialism continues to achieve success and, this is because it is based on the solid ideological foundations of the epoch - making Juche philosophy and, on the experiences and great achievements of Kim Il Sung whose birthday we celebrate today”

Dr Hudson in his speech said that  “In today ‘s world many socialist projects are encountering severe difficulties and challenges , some are faltering . However , in one socialist country tall buildings rise one after the other and new factories go into commission , that country is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea -DPRK for short or People’s Korea or Juche Korea . As it will soon be the 114th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Juche Korea , President KIM IL SUNG ,on the 15th of April  it is fitting and appropriate that we hold this meeting on the theme of President KIM IL SUNG and the characteristic of Korean style socialism and its success , as it is a good way of combining two subjects . Of course President KIM IL SUNG’s whole life was intimately bound up with the construction of socialism in the DPRK , a socialism of Korean style based on the Juche idea which President KIM IL SUNG himself had authored in the fiery days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. The foundations of today’s rapid advance in People’s Korea were laid down by President KIM IL SUNG”

Dr Hudson explained that “ To me, Korean style socialism has four basic characteristics which have contributed to its success ; firstly it is socialism of a Korean style and not a copy or imitation of a foreign country ,secondly , it is independent and self-reliant , thirdly , it is people-centred and fourthly , the DPRK has upheld socialist principles . All this principles are linked to each other .”

Andy Brooks the general secretary of the New Communist Party addressed the meeting saying that there is a lot of misinformation and confusion about the people’s government in the DPRK . He said that some people are dismissive of the DPRK .He stressed that  Korean style socialism has succeeded and it reflects concrete conditions . Andy Brooks pointed out  President KIM IL SUNG had been built up a movement from the grassroots. Andy Brooks also recalled his meeting with President KIM IL SUNG in 1990.

There was a question and answer session .

Dr Hudson also made a short address about the 14th anniversary of the start of the supreme leadership of respected comrade KIM JONG UN saying that “The fourteen  years of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN leadership over the state  ,party and armed forces of the DPRK have been fourteen years of victory and glory . The Korean people will march onto further victories .”

Dr Hudson made reference to the 94th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Army as a guerilla force .

A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.

Refreshments were served.

Literature from the DPRK and KFA UK were displayed .

Asked to summarize the great revolutionary life of President Kim Il Sung in a single motto, you would say: Believing in the people as in heaven.

To him, the people were the heaven, teacher and his whole life.

With the lifelong motto of believing in the people as in heaven, President Kim Il Sung was always among the people and developed policies based on their demand and desire.

He found great pleasure and happiness when he was among the people, discussing with them country affairs, future and ways to improve their livelihood.

In the compound of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) stands the monument bearing the inscription of the immortal autograph of President Kim Il Sung that reads to the effect that the students should become competent officials of the Party and the state, who work always among the people, together with them and in the vanguard of the them for the independence and sovereignty of the country and the freedom and happiness of the people.

A foreign expert on international relations looked at the monument and said: That the word “people” is repeatedly used as many as four times in one sentence clearly indicates that the WPK is the Party striving for freedom and happiness of the people; Looking around the world-class WPK Central Cadres Training School in person, I have a deeper understanding of the intention and will of leader Kim Jong Un who gives top priority to the training of Party officials.

The motto of believing in the people as in heaven and the day-and-night field guidance of President Kim Il Sung brought about the great harmonious whole of the leader and the people, which, in turn, served as the motive force for our country to bring about transformation and miracles worthy of note in the annals of our revolution.

The ideals set forth by President Kim Il Sung by his motto are now being carried forward by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un: He put forth the spirit of “Believing in the people as in heaven.” as the invariable ideal of the WPK and is leading the people with energy and devotion.

Comrade Kim Jong Un embodies the same love of President Kim Il Sung for the people and continues with his journey of devotion to the people. With respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem the people’s paradise will blossom into reality on this land as was envisaged by President Kim Il Sung.

Great Pioneer of Independent Era

Independence is shining as a remarkable symbol of the great personality of President Kim Il Sung and a historical term praising his sacred revolutionary career and undying exploits.

With his outstanding sagacity and insight, the President already clarified the truth of revolution that independence is the life of the popular masses, the country and the nation and that it is imperative to reject flunkyism and dogmatism and make revolution in an independent and creative way in order to realize it already in the early days of revolutionary struggle.

Unprecedented and extraordinary indeed is the President’s determination of holding up independence as the banner of carving out the destiny of the country, the revolution and the people, putting an end to the history of disgrace woven with flunkyism and dogmatism.

With matchless spirit and faith of independence, he braved the harsh trials of revolution and founded an armed force with which to smash the brigandish Japanese imperialists without the support of the state nor the assistance of a regular army and achieved the historic cause of national liberation on this basis.

In the days of building a new country, the President solved numerous issues on the principle of Juche.

Under his guidance, ours could shine as full-fledged independent sovereign state.

The President who led the Fatherland Liberation War to victory with original tactics of our style attached greater importance to the independent interests of the country in the postwar days.

To the President, who put independence forward as lifeline throughout his revolutionary guidance and embodied it in revolutionary practice, reliance on others was an absolute taboo.

Once, the President taught that we could have achieved great successes unprecedented in history as we never hesitated nor vacillated in the face of the enemies’ slandering but advanced unbendingly with firm revolutionary faith and strong will though our Party’s lines and policies had always been objected and slandered by anti-Party factionalists, flunkies, dogmatists, revisionists and imperialists.

Indeed, the revolutionary practice of the President who adhered to the principle of independence without wavering even for once in the thorny path of revolution for tens of years served as motive power which gave birth to great events in the history of our country.

The proud history of our revolution conveys the precious truth that a small country can become strong in independence and ordinary people strong in independent spirit when an outstanding leader is upheld in the van of revolution.

The banner of independence which has shined in the whole course of history of our revolution is held up higher by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The respected General Secretary taught that the road of independence leads to prosperity and victory and that nothing can reverse or stop the dynamic advance of our State and people that have unshakable faith and will to pave their own way by themselves with confidence in their own strength.

Following the ever-victorious road under the leadership of the respected General Secretary, our people keenly felt the precious truth that people can enjoy high dignity and the state can be strong and prosperous forever when the banner of independence is held up high.

It is the faith of all the people to follow the road of independence forever.

Destroyer Choe Hyon Conducts Test-fire of Weapon Systems

Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The test-fire of strategic cruise missiles and anti-warship missiles was conducted again in the operational efficiency test system of destroyer Choe Hyon of the Navy of the Korean People's Army on April 12.

Comrade Kim Jong Un, together with leading officials in the field of national defence and commanding officers of the Navy, observed the test-fire.

The test-fire was aimed at checking the launching control line of the warship's integrated weapon commanding system and familiarizing the seamen with the missile firing action, as well as confirming the accuracy and the rate of hits of the improved active anti-jamming navigation system.

Two strategic cruise missiles and three anti-warship missiles were test-fired from destroyer Choe Hyon.

The launched strategic cruise missiles flew for 7 869s to 7 920s and anti-warship missiles for 1 960s to 1 973s along the flight orbits set in the sky above the West Sea of Korea and struck the targets with ultra-precision hit accuracy.

On the same day, Comrade Kim Jong Un heard a report on the examined formation plan of weapon systems for the destroyers Nos. 3 and 4 under construction and made an important conclusion.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the preparedness of our army's strategic action has been strengthened in a qualitative way with various achievements recently made in the field of defence science.

Saying that it is our Party's invariable national defence line and most important priority task to steadily and unlimitedly bolster up the powerful and reliable nuclear war deterrent, he clarified the important tasks for further strengthening the strategic and tactical attack capability, a key component of the nuclear war deterrent, and for improving and sophisticating the prompt response posture. -0-

  The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is a peerlessly great man who performed undying feats for the country and people, the times and history, holding aloft the banner of Juche all his life.

 

Authoring the Immortal Juche Idea

  Comrade  Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of revolution for the liberation of the country in his teens and groped for a new path of the Korean revolution.

  At that time, the communists of the early years and nationalists who were allegedly engaged in the national liberation movement in Korea were idling away the time with scramble for hegemony and lip service, being divorced from the masses of the people.

  Comrade Kim Il Sung decided to pioneer a new path of the Korean revolution, the one quite different from theirs.

  He was not involved in the scientific and theoretical activities to delve into the preceding progressive ideas in the study, but went among the people and conducted revolutionary and practical activities of organizing and mobilizing them to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. In the course, he discovered the truth of the Juche idea.

  He formulated it as the truth of revolution that if one is to make revolution, one should go among the people and struggle by relying on them and step up the revolution of one's own country by one's own efforts in a responsible manner, whether or not recognized by others.

  He proclaimed the founding of the Juche idea at the historic Kalun meeting on June 30, 1930.

  In April 1994, members of a visiting journalist delegation from the United States asked him a number of questions.

  Comrade Kim Il Sung gave answers to their questions, Section Chief Kim Jong Chol at the Academy of Social Sciences said and continued:

  "At that time, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said it can be called his hobby to enjoy reading books and mix with the people to share life and talk with them, adding:

  The people are the most resourceful and well-informed teachers for me. They embody a mix of philosophy, economics and literature. Consequently, I always mix with the people and learn from them.

  I grasped the truth in the course of struggling for the independence and prosperity of the country that when we believe in the people and rely on them, we will always emerge victorious but if we are forsaken by them, we will always fail. And I have led the revolution and construction, regarding the truth as my motto. It is my political philosophy to believe in the masses of the people as the masters of the revolution and construction and rely on their strength and this enabled me to devote my life to the people."

Leading the Revolution and Construction under the Banner of Juche

  The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung further developed and enriched the Juche idea in the course of applying it to all fields of the revolution and construction throughout his life and dignified the country and people under its banner.

  He led the 20-year-long anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory under the banner of Juche and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation.

  He built the party, government and army in our own way in the period of building a new society and won a victory with our style of tactics and on the strength of our people in the Fatherland Liberation War for repulsing the invasion of the US imperialists in the 1950s.

  And he successfully advanced the socialist revolution and socialist construction by the efforts of our people according to the Juche-based lines and policies.

  He built on this land socialism of Korean style constantly developing on the basis of the firm foundation of independence, self-sufficiency and self-reliant defence by applying the Juche idea.

  In June 1992, he met the Chairman of the Workers' Communist Party of Sweden and had a historic talk with him, Section Chief Kim Jong Chol at the Academy of Social Sciences said and continued:

  "In his talk that day, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said the first cause of the ruin of the east European socialist countries is that the leaders of those countries took to flunkeyism and the worship of great power without maintaining the independent stand in the revolution. He went on to say:

  In the past, Khrushchev told me that Korea should also join the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA), but I objected to it. I told him: 'Even though we do not join CMEA, if we successfully carry out socialist construction based on self-reliance, it means precisely that we are loyal to internationalism, doesn't it? In the long run, the east European socialist countries that entered the CMEA just to fawn upon the great power all collapsed, but we who have not entered the CMEA from the standpoint of independence are still living healthily.'"

  Once a foreign journalist asked him in what aspect he thought he could develop the Juche idea if he was to further develop it. Comrade Kim Il Sung answered that we were mapping out correct strategies and tactics of building socialism and communism on the basis of the revolutionary principle of the Juche idea and further developing and enriching our revolutionary idea and theory in the course of solving practical issues arising in the revolution and construction.

  He authored the immortal Juche idea and led the country and people, the times and history under its banner and his undying exploits will shine forever.

Leading The People to Victory on the Two Fronts !-special article for the 14th anniversary of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN's supreme leadership

It is now 14 years since respected comrade KIM JONG UN assumed the mantle of supreme leadership in People’s Korea when he was elected on the 11th of April as the First Secretary of the Workers party of Korea and on the 13th of April as the First Chairman of the then National Defence Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) . Later  respected comrade KIM JONG UN was elected as Chairman of the Workers Party of Korea in 2016 and then as General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea in 2021 as well being elected as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK in 2016 ,later becoming President of the State Affairs of the DPRK.

The 14 years of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN ‘s supreme leadership have been characterised by amazing growth and development . It is no exaggeration to saw that the face of Pyongyang has changed several times and that parts of Pyongyang are unrecognisable , in fact did not exist before. I have seen this with my own eyes when visiting the DPRK in 2024 and 2025 

Under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the DPRK has developed very rapidly on the two fronts of the economy and national defence . Of course it is not easy to simultaneously develop both the economy and national defence at the same time . Many people argue that if you develop national defence that the economy suffers or that to develop the economy rapidly then defence expenditure must be radically reduced . It said that the former USSR collapsed due to the burden of defence expenditure which damaged the economy and people’s living standards.

Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN put forward the line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel, which is sometimes referred to as Pyongjin, at the historic March 2013 plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea . It is a unique revolutionary line based on the Juche idea idea.Only People’s Korea had the line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel.

This proved to be very successful indeed . The DPRK crossed the nuclear finishing line becoming both a H-bomb power and an ICBM power . As respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said at the 9th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea “ I am sure to say: Ours is no longer a country that is susceptible to threats from others, and it has the power to threaten them, if necessary”.

Recent events such as the aggression against Venezuela , the US and Israeli attack on Iran and the threats against Cuba all prove the correctness of the DPRK’s line on developing the nuclear force along with the economy .

Thanks to Marshal KIM JONG UN’s line of developing the nuclear force and economy in parallel created   a stable and peaceful environment for economic construction and the raising of people’s living standards which otherwise would not exist .

Under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN a truly massive programme of construction has been carried out in the DPRK .Street after street has been built in Pyongyang such as Mirae Scientists Street , Ryomyong Street , Songwha Street, Hwasong Street and Jongwi street, to name just a few . All these new homes have been given to people free of charge , something that is unthinkable in the West. 

The target of 50,000 new homes in Pyongyang has been overfulfilled . At the same time new homes have been built in the countryside and an ambitious programme of development , the 20 x 10 regional development policy has been launched .

There have also been big developments in the socialist public health service under Marshal KIM JONG UN’s leadership . New hospitals such as the Ryugyong Dental Hospital ,the Okryu Children's Hospital , the Taesongsan General Hospital and the new Breast Tumour Institute of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital were built and last year the state of the art Pyongyang General Hospital was completed .

Thus the 14 years of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN’ supreme leadership have seen achievements that many thought were not possible .

Today is the 14th anniversary of the supreme leadership of  respected Marshal KIM JONG UN.

 14 years have passed since respected Marshal  KIM JONG UN was elected to the positions of First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea on the 11th of April 2012 and First Chairman of the former National Defence Commission of the DPRK (now the State Affairs Commission ) on the 13th of April 2012.  These momentous decisions placed dear respected comrade KIM JONG UN  at the head of the state ,party and army and at the helm of the Korean revolution, basically the supreme leader of the DPRK.

The past 14 years have been years of victory and glory for the DPRK

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Meets Chinese FM

Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, met Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and foreign minister of the People's Republic of China, on a visit to the DPRK, on April 10.

Present there was Kim Song Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee and director of its International Department.

Also present were Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and Hua Chunying, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gladly received Wang Yi and exchanged warm greetings and had a talk with him in a comradely atmosphere.

At the talk, Wang Yi courteously conveyed the warm greetings from Comrade Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and president of the PRC, to Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed deep thanks for it and asked the Chinese foreign minister to convey his greetings to Comrade Xi Jinping.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that it is important for the DPRK and China to further intensify the visits and contacts at different levels and boost mutual support and cooperation for the protection of the common interests and the multi-faceted and sustained development of the bilateral relations, in view of the present international geopolitical situation and the long-term strategic interests of the two countries. And he expressed the stand of the WPK and the DPRK government on the issues of regional and international situation of mutual concern.

Wang Yi expressed the steadfast stand of the Chinese party and government to successfully develop the China-DPRK friendly relations, which have greeted a new phase of development in accordance with the important common understanding reached at the summit meeting and talks between the top leaders of the two countries held in Beijing last September, in keeping with the desire and interests of the peoples of the two countries, and the view on the regional and international issues.

Affirming that it is the steadfast stand of the WPK and the DPRK government to place the greatest value on, give top priority to and further develop the DPRK-China friendly relations with socialism as their core, Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the WPK and the DPRK government would fully support all the internal and external policies of the Chinese party and government for realizing the territorial integrity of the country on the basis of the "one-China" principle and building a fair and just multi-polar world.

Comrade Kim Jong Un exchanged warm farewells with Wang Yi, wishing the Chinese party, government and people greater success in the course of accomplishing the cause of socialist modernization and national prosperity under the outstanding leadership of Comrade Xi Jinping. -0-

 The  British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) )and the UK Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the Day of the Sun today issued a statement on the 113th  anniversary of the birth of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
  On the forthcoming  15th of April, the Korean people and world progressive people will celebrate the 114th anniversary of the birth of the President which is known as the  Day of the Sun. The respect for the great leader President Kim Il Sung from the world Juche idea followers and friends of People's Korea grow deeper with each passing year and indeed each passing day. Celebrating the birth of President Kim Il Sung is act an of practical solidarity with People's Korea.
                                                     
                                             

   We remember the great leader President Kim Il Sung,  on the day of his birth not only as the eternal president and fatherly leader of the Korean people but as an outstanding leader of the international communist movement and a great teacher of the world revolution and the oppressed and toiling peoples of the world.               
    The great leader comrade Kim Il Sung was born into the family of a poor peasant but rose to become a great leader of the people and a world statesman of great renown. He not only liberated Korea from the shackles of Japanese imperialism but turned the country into a formidable power, a socialist power of Juche, which defeated the US when it tried to invade the country.
                         
                                   

   The great leader President Kim Il Sung authored the Juche Idea, the idea that the popular masses are the masters of revolution and construction and have the ability to promote them. Juche is expressed in day-to-day terms by the idea of independence and the idea of self-reliance and self-defence. All the lines and policies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were and are profoundly permeated with the idea of independence.

The great leader President Kim Il Sung built a new independent Korea on the ruins of Japanese colonialism, he built a new Juche Korea which was not only free from the domination of imperialism but free from the intervention and pressure of big powers.
    By putting forward the line of armed struggle in the 1930s  the great leader President Kim Il Sung created the basis of the Songun Idea and Songun politics. Today the Songun Idea is the cutting edge of the anti-imperialist struggle for independence.
    The very name of the great leader President Kim Il Sung is associated with militant anti-imperialism as he taught that there should be no compromise with imperialism and that the anti-US, anti-imperialist struggle should be intensified.

                                     
                                                 

                                                   

               

  The great leader President Kim Il Sung was the benevolent father of the people who built a socialist state where the masses are the masters of everything. He built a socialist paradise in which there is full employment, free medical care, free education, even free housing and no taxation.              

              The achievements of the great leader President Kim Il Sung are celebrated not only by the Korean people but the revolutionary and progressive peoples throughout the world. The four corners of the globe reverberate with praise for the great leader President Kim Il Sung.

    Today the legacy of the great leader President Kim Il Sung,  is precisely the DPRK, the Juche Idea and Korean-style, people-centred socialism. This legacy is defended and carried forward by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who follows the road of independence, Juche and socialism holding high the bright red banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and self-reliance. Under the leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un , the Korean people are advancing towards higher goals under the banner of self-reliance.

              We join with the world's progressive people including the Juche Idea,  and true friends of People's Korea throughout the whole world in saluting the 114th anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung!

UK Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the Day of the Sun

DPRK Defence Science Research Institutes Conduct Tests of Important Weapon Systems

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Defence Science and the Missile Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted the tests of electromagnetic weapon system, carbon fiber sham bombs scattering, verifying combat reliability of mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile system and estimating combat application and power of cluster bomb warhead of tactical ballistic missile on April 6, 7 and 8.

The tests were guided by Full General Kim Jong Sik, member of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee.

He said that the electromagnetic weapon and carbon fiber bomb are special assets of strategic nature to be combined with and applied to various military means in different spheres.

The Anti-Air Weapon System Research Bureau of the Missile Administration conducted a test to verify the combat reliability of the mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile system.

The Ballistic Missile System Institute and the Warhead Institute of the Missile Administration conducted a test of estimating the combat application and cluster munitions power of tactical ballistic missile warhead, and confirmed that the surface-to-surface tactical ballistic missile Hwasongpho-11 Ka tipped with the cluster bomb warhead can reduce to ashes any target covering an area of 6.5~7 hectares with the highest-density power.

There was a firing for testing the maximum workload of engine using low-cost materials.

The Missile Administration said that the above tests are of great significance in the development of the armed forces of the DPRK and are a part of the regular activities of the administration and its affiliated defence scientific research institutes to constantly develop and upgrade weapon systems. -0-

  The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI)  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK) ) issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement of comrade Jang Kum Chol, first vice-minister and director general of the Tenth Department of the DPRK Foreign Ministry titled " The true colors of the ROK, the most hostile enemy state, can never change" which was issued on the 7th of April;

Recently comrade Kim Yo Jong department director of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea gave her appraisal of the apology issued by the ROK president with regard to the drone intrusion of the DPRK . The ROK puppet regime fundamentally misinterpreted the statement of department director comrade Kim Yo Jong .

In his statement comrade Jang Kum Chol  refutes the misinterpretations of the ROK puppets and fully clarifies the stance of the DPRK towards the ROK puppets. Basically the statement issued by comrade Kim Yo Jong was a warning to the ROK puppets and the ROK puppets are indulging in "hope-filled dream reading"

Comrade Jang Kum Chol states clearly that "The identity of the ROK, the enemy state most hostile to the DPRK, can never change with any words or conduct.". This reflects the stand of the DPRK .

We believe that it is correct and just that the DPRK regards the ROK as the most hostile enemy state of the DPRK .  We would add the ROK is the worst ever puppet regime in the world , a total colony and culturally decadent and degnerate.

Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Jang Kum Chol, first vice-minister and director general of the Tenth Department of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, issued the following press statement "The true colors of the ROK, the most hostile enemy state, can never change":

The department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea made public a press statement related to the ROK on Monday night.

Voices of Chongwadae and various circles in the ROK analyzing it are really something to see.

If the ROK side lets out nonsense, regarding the rapid response from our government as an "exceptional friendly response" and a "quick mutual confirmation of intentions by the top leaders," this will also be recorded as world-startling fools' "hope-filled dream reading"

The thematic core of the press statement was a clear warning.

As for the press statement of the department director of the Party Central Committee, she evidently gave a witty warning to the ROK with very short and gentle sentences and expressions.

As they have a bad ear and cannot understand, I would like to awaken them to the true meaning of the press statement I read.

"You did something good. If you want to live safely, you should candidly admit your sin like this. It is, indeed, beyond my imagination that there is such a quite frank man in a pack of brazen-faced ones. You should prevent recurrence if you want to be secure. You will have to pay dearly if you persist in rash acts before us. Do not irritate us if you want to live in comfort." This is the main idea of the press statement I read.

While referring to the so-called "resolution" cooked up a few days ago by the UN Human Rights Council, Department Director Kim Yo Jong told me today that those of the ROK are little short of the dogs affected by mange that blindly bark to the tune of neighboring dogs. She also asked me whether her last night's press statement was interesting.

Of course, I replied to her that the ROK side's "hope-filled dream reading" was very interesting.

The identity of the ROK, the enemy state most hostile to the DPRK, can never change with any words or conduct. -0-

Crimes of Japan, Sworn Enemy of Korean Nation

Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- After fabricating the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" in a brigandish way, the Japanese imperialists buckled down to annexing Korea to Japan and making the Korean people its slaves.

To this end, the imperialists sought to provide a legal mechanism for usurping the feudal Korean government's authority for handling internal affairs, which existed only for form's sake.

The Japanese imperialists regarded as the first obstacle Emperor Kojong who remained opposed to their seizure of Korea's sovereignty at that time. Therefore, they left no means and methods untried to eliminate him.

Emperor Kojong sent emissaries to the Second International Peace Conference held in 1907 to disclose the illegality and invalidity of the "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty" and the injustice of Japan's colonial rule over Korea. Regarding it as a golden opportunity, the Japanese imperialists forcibly dethroned Emperor Kojong through threat and blackmail, pressure and cunning tricks.

Later, they put Sunjong on the throne and let Hirobumi Ito, resident-general of Korea, cook up the "Jongmi Seven-point Treaty".

The "treaty" required the feudal Korean government to go under the instructions of the resident-general of Japan in the policy issues and obtain his approval before revising law or making important administrative decisions. It also obliged the feudal Korean government to appoint any senior government official with the consent of the resident-general and to appoint Japanese nominated by the resident-general as a high-ranking government official.

After completely seizing the right to internal affairs of the feudal Korean government, ranging from the judicial, legislative and administrative affairs to the appointment of government officials by invoking the "Jongmi Seven-point Treaty", an illegal fraud document devoid of legitimacy, the Japanese imperialists had enforced barbarous colonial rule over Korea. -0-

Responding to the apology issued by the ROK President on the 6th of April for the acts of drone intrusion into the DPRK by the ROK , comrade Kim Yo Jong said the DPRK appreciated the stance of the ROK believing it to the wise behaviour that is good for the sake of the ROK .

Comrade Kim Yo Jong stresses that for the future the ROK should stop any reckless provocation and refrain from any attempt at contact .

Moreover in the words of comrade Kim Yo Jong  "The ROK side should be mindful that it will be forced to pay a price too much for it, as already warned, if such a provocation as violating the inalienable sovereignty of our state occurs again. "

This is very correct . The ROK should in the future refrain from any provocative act against the DPRK .

Comrade Kim Jong Il was elected as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK , the highest office of state in the DPRK, on the 9th of April This was a  truly momentous event  as it marked the succession to the Juche revolutionary cause .The election as Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK  was a profound manifestation of the sublime respect and trust of the Korean people in the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il . It fully reflected the fact that the great  leader comrade Kim Jong Il was the successor to the Songun revolutionary cause pioneered by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung.
   

Throughout the period of his chairmanship of the National Defence Commission comrade Kim Jong Il wisely carried forward the cause of Juche -orientated defence building .He wisely administered Songun politics in order to cope with the US imperialists attempts to stifle Korean-style socialism by force.
   

 During  the 18 years that he was chairman of the NDC the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il steered the DPRK through the difficult period of the 'arduous march' caused by the imperialist's attempts to stifle the DPRK and by recurrent natural disasters to a shining victory. His leadership also ensured the DPRK won victory in the 'war without gunshots' against the US imperialists facing down their attempts to subdue the DPRK through the so-called 'nuclear crisis'. Thanks to his leadership the DPRK has emerged as a strategic state.

Soon  it will be the 34th anniversary of the award of the title of Generalissimo to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG which was a manifestation  of the deep respect of the Korean people. 
  The award of the title of Generalissimo to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  was a reflection of the immortal exploits he performed for  the historic cause of Korea's liberation, and also leading the Fatherland Liberation War to victory and developing People's  Korea   They are paying high respect to the President who brought the rebirth to the Korean nation and provided it with  freedom and independence .
