History and Tradition of Victory

  The Korean people celebrate July 27 as the great V-Day every year.

  The history of war victory of heroic Korea created in the 1950s under the outstanding leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is shining all the more thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK.

History of War Victory

  The Korean War ignited by the US imperialists on June 25, 1950 was a war of aggression to stifle the young DPRK in the cradle and realize their ambition for world domination.

  It is called the Fatherland Liberation War in the DPRK.

  In the past Fatherland Liberation War, the Korean people inflicted an ignominious defeat upon the US imperialists in hearty response to the outstanding military ideas and strategy of Comrade Kim Il Sung.

  Lecturer Hwang Ryon at the Korean Revolution Museum said that during the war, Comrade Kim Il Sung presented outstanding military ideas, and bold and mysterious strategies, tactics and war methods of Korean style and applied them skilfully, and continued:

  "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung presented outstanding military ideas and war methods including the idea on transforming the Fatherland Liberation War into an all-people war, the idea on ensuring definite politico-ideological and strategic and tactical upper hand of the army in the whole course of the war, the idea on meeting the material demand of war by our own efforts, large-unit and small-unit activities, regular warfare, guerrilla warfare, mountain warfare and night warfare.

  The Juche-oriented military ideas and war methods of his nullified the upper hand of the US imperialists in number and military technique and enabled the Korean people to win victory."

  The original war methods of Korean style were created by the outstanding military ideas, strategies and tactics of Comrade Kim Il Sung, including the aircraft-hunting team movement, tank hunters' team movement, tunnels warfare and the position warfare, which could not be found in the history of world wars.

  Comrade Kim Il Sung brought about the victory in the war with his love for and trust in the people and the service personnel of the People's Army.

  With the theory that the people and service personnel are the performers of war and the Supreme Commander exists for them, he had a rest home built worrying about the health of soldiers fighting on the heights and took measures to enforce the universal free medical care system for the people.

  Thanks to his love and trust, the brave soldiers of the People's Army blocked the enemy's pillboxes with their chests and became human bombs to destroy the enemy's tanks, displaying matchless heroism.

  Those days since the fireworks of war victory were set off were the history of fireless war of the DPRK against all the hostile forces including the US imperialists.

  In the 1990s which was recorded as the period of ordeals in the history of the DPRK, the US-led imperialist allied forces made more desperate efforts than ever before to isolate and suffocate the DPRK, loudly talking about the so-called "theory of its collapse".

  In those days, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il defended the country with his original Songun (military-first) politics.

  Thanks to his unusual military wisdom and matchless courage and confidence, the destiny of the country could be safeguarded and the history of victory of the DPRK go on.

  Today the history and tradition of victory of the DPRK are successfully carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another iron-willed, brilliant commander.

Tradition of Victory Will Be Eternal

  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is energetically leading the people, service personnel of the People's Army and the coming generations to steadily carry forward the noble soul and spirit of the great victorious wartime generation.

  He made public famous works and thus provided a great programme for invariably carrying forward the tradition of victory won by the victorious wartime generation and made the whole country pulsate with the spirit of defending the country.

  He armed the coming generations with the heroic fighting spirit displayed by the army and people in the Fatherland Liberation War and saw that they could inherit the spirit generation after generation, lecturer An Yon Mi at the Korean Revolution Museum said and continued:

  "When he visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said the spirit of defending the country, whose core is the spirit of resolutely defending the leader, the spirit of patriotism and the heroic spirit of self-sacrifice displayed by the service personnel of the People's Army during the Fatherland Liberation War, is the most valuable ideological and spiritual heritage the new generations should inherit. And he stressed that the people, service personnel of the People's Army and the new generations should keep the spirit of defending the country and mass heroism displayed in the 1950s as a precious ideological and spiritual wealth and carry them forward generation after generation."

  Comrade Kim Jong Un had the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum built into a monument of the times so that the history and tradition of victory in the great years could be handed down as a valuable revolutionary legacy of Juche Korea forever.

  He came out to the spot to choose the site for the museum and took necessary measures ranging from the designing to the formation of construction forces and the supply of materials. Examining the historic relics and other exhibits to be displayed at the museum, he ascertained the historic materials.

  Afterwards, he came to the construction site several times and led all the elements to be completed on the highest level so that the visitors could have a deeper understanding of the outstanding military wisdom and Juche-oriented tactics of Comrade Kim Il Sung.

  He made it a tradition to invite the representatives of war veterans to Pyongyang and significantly celebrate the V-Day every year.

  He put forward the victorious wartime generation as the most heroic generation who laid the firm foundation of the DPRK even in the tempest of history and as models of the great and indomitable Korean people.

  He invited to the Eighth Conference of War Veterans the lecturers in the field of preserving revolutionary relics related to the war victory and led them to discharge their mission as powerful disseminators and educators infusing the people, service personnel and rising generations with the heroic fighting spirit and traits of the great years as the eternal soul.

  Comrade Kim Jong Un presented it as the general line of building the revolutionary armed forces to make the People's Army the ever-victorious one, so that the tradition of victory could be invariably carried forward.

  He put forward the idea on three elements of the armed forces--service personnel, arms and ideology--and gave a definition that ideology is the core element defining character, aspect and might of the armed forces.

  He guided the military drills of the large combined units of the People's Army on the spot, giving invincible wisdom and courage to the service personnel.

  A rapid progress was made in the strengthening of the defence capabilities under his energetic guidance.

  Comrade Kim Jong Un accomplished the historic cause of completing the state nuclear forces and strengthened and developed the DPRK into a military power any hostile forces dare not challenge.

  The line of simultaneous building of the economy and nuclear forces, the adoption of the policy of strengthening the nuclear forces as part of the constitution and the absolute weaponry intensively representing the progressiveness, modernity and heroism of the state show that the tradition of victory won by the victorious wartime generation goes on in the powerful country no formidable enemy can invade.

  The immortal exploits performed by Comrade Kim Il Sung for victory in the war and the tradition of victory created by the participants in the Fatherland Liberation War serve as the most valuable ideological and spiritual treasure to the new generations.

  The brilliant history of war victory of the DPRK shows that the history of victory is great and the tradition of victory is eternal only under the guidance of an outstanding leader.

The Korean people won the three-year war against the armed invasion of the US imperialists in the 1950s.

As for the factors of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, Doctor and Associate Professor Choe Myong Bok, Teacher of Kim Il Sung University, said:
"The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, in a number of classic works, clarified that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was a victory of the outstanding military idea, Juche-oriented combat methods and superb strategies and tactics of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung; it was a victory of patriotism and indomitable fighting spirit of the Korean people who fought at the risk of their lives in response to his appeal."
It is a disgraceful tradition of the United States that it has been severely beaten and defeated by the Korean people since the 1950s. On the contrary, it is a proud tradition of heroic Korea that it has mercilessly beaten at every step the United States running wild relying on its gigantic strength.
The two conflicting traditions teach the truth of history that the leader of a country decides the destiny of that country and people.

The First Tragedy of the United States with the Myth of Its "Mightiness" Broken

On June 25, 1950, the United States ignited a war on the young Democratic People's Republic of Korea and vaunted that it would conquer Korea within 72 hours.
The 72 hours were repeated hundreds of times to be more than 27,000 hours equivalent to 1,129 days and 3 years, producing the biggest political and military tragedy that the US imperialists were defeated by the Korean people and destined to fall like the setting sun.
After the armistice agreement was signed, the then US President Eisenhower spoke at the radio microphone: "We paid dearly for it. It was tragic and bitter."
Clark cried sadly after signing the armistice agreement as the first defeated general in the US history who singed an instrument of surrender, his mother recollected.
The United States, which had never been defeated in more than 110 wars, was defeated in Korea because it didn't know about the Korean people at all.
It was the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea, who led the Fatherland Liberation War to victory. He is a peerlessly great man who organized and led the 20-year-long anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle against the Japanese imperialists to victory and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation.
On the day when the war broke out, Comrade Kim Il Sung called an emergency meeting of the Cabinet and said the Yankees mistook the Korean people and that we should show the mettle of Koreans to those who are rushing about, misjudging them.
And he continued that it is necessary to frustrate the enemy's invasion and immediately launch a decisive counteroffensive action to wipe out the armed invaders.
Many world people, who were watching the future of the young DPRK, greatly admired the daring confidence and unusual commanding art of Comrade Kim Il Sung as regards the fact that the DPRK liberated Seoul, the stronghold of the enemy, only in 72 hours with an immediate counterattack.
The DPRK was called heroic Korea as it broke the myth of "mightiness" of the United States from the beginning of the war.
The shameful tradition of the United States, which produced the first tragedy, lasted for over 70 years.

The "Pueblo", Trophy of the DPRK

On January 23, 1968, seven seamen of the Navy of the Korean People's Army captured the US imperialist armed spy ship "Pueblo" which had intruded into the territorial waters of the DPRK.



The crew of the "Pueblo" was in captivity in the DPRK for 11 months.
When the "Pueblo" was captured, the United States deceived the world public that it was outside the territorial waters of the DPRK and that it was a civilian ship for oceanology.
Far from making an apology to us, the United States brought huge troops to the vicinity of the Korean peninsula, threatening and blackmailing that it would invade the DPRK if it does not send back the ship and its crew. Some countries advised the DPRK to make a "concession" for fear of worsening the relations with the United States.
At that time, Comrade Kim Il Sung resolutely declared to the world that the enemy's retaliation would be answered with retaliation and an all-out war with all-out war.





The crew of the "Pueblo" in captivity confessed that they had intruded into the territorial waters of the DPRK to collect data.
After all, the United States made an apology to the DPRK in the eyes of the world, and the crew of the "Pueblo" was expelled from the territory of the Republic.
This serious event that the United States could not dare to challenge even though it was deprived of its ship for the first time in its history was an ignominious defeat it suffered after the war.



The "Pueblo", a trophy of the DPRK and a symbol of defeat of the United States, is now tied up in the Pothong River of Pyongyang as an object of denunciation and curse of the international community.

Shame of the United States in the DPRK-US Nuclear Confrontation

In 1993, the United States frantically staged the "Team Spirit 93" joint military exercise, taking issue with the "nuclear issue" of the DPRK.
The United States extensively brought new-type planes and warships loaded with nuclear weapons, and means of nuclear strike of various kinds into the Korean peninsula and its surrounding waters and mobilized over 200,000 aggressor forces to conduct powder-reeking war drills.
When a touch-and-go situation was created in the DPRK where a war may break out at any time, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, Supreme Commander of the KPA, declared a semi-war state to the whole country, all the people and the entire army.
Later, he ensured that the DPRK's withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty was declared through a statement of the DPRK government.
It was like a bolt from the blue for the United States professing itself to be the "only superpower" in the world.
High-level talks were held between the DPRK and the United States and the United States finally signed the DPRK-US Agreed Framework for the peaceful settlement of the "nuclear issue".
And an unprecedented letter of assurance was sent to Comrade Kim Jong Il in the name of the US President that he would faithfully implement the agreement.
The United States suffered another disastrous defeat when the DPRK won the political, military and diplomatic victories in the DPRK-US nuclear negotiations.

Ever-Victorious DPRK

In the 21st century, the DPRK further strengthened the self-defensive war deterrent and defence capability to cope with the evermore vicious nuclear threat of the United States.
When the DPRK made nuclear tests and launched artificial earth satellites as part of the exercise of its self-defensive right, the United States instigated the UN Security Council to fabricate a provocative "resolution of sanctions" against the DPRK.
Taking issue with the 3rd underground nuclear test made by the DPRK in 2013, in particular, it fabricated another "resolution of sanctions" of higher intensity and mobilized huge aggressive armed forces to conduct frantic joint military exercises for provoking a nuclear war.



Doctor and Associate Professor Jang Yong Chol, Teacher of Kim Il Sung University, said that at that time, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, put forward the line of simultaneous building of the economy and nuclear forces at the March 2013 Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee and continued:
"At the plenary meeting, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said our Party's new line of simultaneously developing the two fronts is not a temporary countermeasure to cope with the rapidly-changing situation but a strategic line which should be held fast to permanently from the view of the supreme interests of the Korean revolution."
Thanks to the gifted strategy and daring confidence of Comrade Kim Jong Un, world-startling special events took place multiply and consecutively and the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear forces was accomplished.
The Korean economy has grown and many creations of self-reliance have been built on this land.
After all, the United States made every possible effort to block the way of the DPRK, but it faced a failure again.
After the summit meeting and talks between the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the US President Trump in June 2018, the first of their kind in the history of the two countries, even the US conservative media reported the news that the US President Trump praised Comrade Kim Jong Un again and again at a press conference, saying; "Comrade Kim Jong Un has a great character. He is humorous and intelligent and loves his people."

It is a proud tradition of Korea that it has emerged ever-victorious by fighting against power with superpower, always faithful to the ideology and leadership of the leader.
The tradition of victory continues to be carried forward under the guidance of another peerlessly great man Kim Jong Un.

KCNA Commentary on Japan's Nuclear Policy

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The present authorities of Japan are more openly revealing their ambition for nuclear weapons.

With regard to France's declaration of its plan to increase the number of nuclear warheads and the Finnish parliament's approval of a revised bill on allowing the deployment of nuclear weapons in its territory in contingency, the Japanese minister of Defence on July 17 advocated the need to change Japan's nuclear policy, saying that it is difficult for Japan to comment on the fact, but one thing that deserves comment is nuclear.

The minister of Defence, who is in charge of the security policy of Japan, unreservedly talked about the revision of nuclear policy. This is not just a slip of the tongue to the press or bombast from temerity.

No wonder, the Japanese chief executive told the House of Councilors shortly ago that revision of the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles" would be brought up for discussion alongside the revision of the three security-related documents including the national security strategy.

By making such shameless remarks, the Japanese regime has openly revealed its intention to go straight to adopt it as a major state policy decision to arm itself with nuclear weapons, which it has long dreamed of, instead of merely placing it under debate.

Japan's revision of nuclear policy just means the war criminal state's access to nuclear weapons.

As recognized by the international community, the revision of the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles" should never be Japan's "subject of debate".

Japan is a heinous war criminal state which plunged the Asia-Pacific region into a sea of blood, using warships, planes, cannons and bayonets for realizing the wild ambition to enslave all mankind a century ago. It is, at the same time, an inhuman criminal state which still denies its past crimes, distorts history and doggedly evades the legal and moral responsibility it assumes for the international community.

For the past 80 years since its defeat, the "Self-Defence Forces" of Japan have undergone a transformation from the "mainland defence type" to the "overseas attack type" aimed at launching a preemptive attack on other countries with its official right to the possession of the "capability of attacking the enemy base." The defence expenses are also hitting an all-time high every year under the deceptive veil of "exclusive defence," going far beyond the "minimum necessary limit" of a "pacifist state".

The successive rulers of Japan laid institutional and legal foundations for reinvasion bit by bit by adopting the "law on overseas dispatches", the "law to deal with contingencies in areas surrounding Japan", the "law on special measures for terrorism" and the "security legislation" alongside their persistent effort to revise the constitution.

In particular, the present ruling forces, which carried out the revision of the "Three Principles on Transfer of Defence Equipment and Technology" and its operation guidelines which stipulated the export of lethal weapons at the outset of their office, are now seeking to forcibly revise the "three principles of denuclearization". Such neo-militarist moves clearly prove that Japan, a defeated nation in Asia, is accelerating its transformation into a war state, regarding the current complicated situation as a golden opportunity for getting rid of all sorts of chains shackling its emergence as a military giant.

It is not secret that Japan has advanced nuclear technology and has stockpiled plutonium and enriched uranium that might be used in making many nuclear bombs and is capable of actualizing the mass production of nuclear weapons at any moment.

It is the immutable truth taught by history that nuclear weapons, for their tremendous destructive power, will turn into a means of tyranny against mankind if they are in the hands of injustice, but will be the greatest deterrent to injustice if they are in the hands of justice.

This is why the world people are getting increasing vocal in their demand that war criminal nation's wild ambition for nuclear weapons should be nipped in the bud for high possibility of repeating the offense.

82 local councils in the archipelago submitted a letter of opinion strongly urging the government and the diet to preserve the "three principles of denuclearization" and the public is blaming the authorities for seeking to "restore the politics deceiving the people." Such mounting criticism is a due denunciation and expression of resentment and protest against the dangerous act of the present ruling forces to make a new history of aggression by realizing their wild nuclear ambition.

The whole world should impose stern punishment on the vicious attempt of neo-militarism to bring nuclear holocaust to mankind under the revanchist ambition, carrying the signboard of the "world's only victim of atomic bombs" to gain sympathy.

Japan's pursuance of neo-militarism will inevitably result in digging its own grave, as those who forget the past repeat the past. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK )  , issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of the DPRK foreign ministry that was issued on Friday 24th of July concerning the recent ASEAN Foreign ministers meeting and other ASEAN related meetings;

The US, ROK(south Korea) and Japan used these meetings for the purposes of stirring up trouble against the DPRK and making hostile propaganda against the DPRK and other countries even though it the event was meant to be a meeting for promoting co-operation among the different countries of South East Asia .

Worse still the issue of the so-called "denuclearisation " of the DPRK was brought which infringes on the constitutional rights of the DPRK .

The DPRK Foreign Ministry asserted that "The U.S.-Japan-ROK futile attempt to deny and infringe upon the constitutional rights of the DPRK can neither bring up for discussion again the issue of "denuclearization", which was irreversibly and finally concluded, nor affect the new mechanical structure of the region being built against the background of the present position of our state."

The press statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry shows that the DPRK wishes to develop friendly co-operation with other countries whilst at the same time defending it constitutional right and independence .

We denounce the US, ROK and Japan for using the ASEAN forum to advocate the denuclearisaton of the DPRK . This is totally wrong.

Press Statement of DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued the following press statement on Friday:

The 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers' Meeting and other ASEAN-related meetings, held recently in Manila, the capital city of Philippines, discussed the issues of ensuring regional peace and security and expanding cooperation among regional countries.

The DPRK respects the leading position and role of ASEAN to ensure regional peace and security on the principles of respect for sovereignty, sovereignty equality and non-interference in internal affairs and pays attention to the fact that ASEAN aspires after co-prosperity and unity as a regional community.

However, the U.S. and some countries following it are raising waves of confrontation while inciting division and antagonism, abusing the ASEAN arena as a space for justifying their evil intention, contrary to the general will of regional countries prioritizing peace, development, stability and cooperation.

The diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK have resorted to the hostile rhetoric toward the DPRK, talking about "its denuclearization" and debated the issue of the Taiwan Strait under the pretext of "freedom of navigation". This proves the fact that the U.S., Japan and the ROK are the root cause of regional instability and the main obstacle to ensuring peace.

Southeast Asia can never be a region subjected to promoting the U.S. "security and prosperity" and the ASEAN arena should not be a field of searching for an opportunity of criticizing other countries and inciting hostility towards them.

The U.S.-Japan-ROK futile attempt to deny and infringe upon the constitutional rights of the DPRK can neither bring up for discussion again the issue of "denuclearization", which was irreversibly and finally concluded, nor affect the new mechanical structure of the region being built against the background of the present position of our state.

The crucial threat to be feared and guarded by the region and the international community is the exclusive security and economic bloc being formed, led by the U.S., and the attempt of Japan and the ROK systematically violating the nuclear non-proliferation system under the active patronage of the U.S. to go nuclear.

Consistent is the stand of the DPRK to develop friendly and cooperative relations with the ASEAN member states, which respect the sovereignty and right to development of our state and take friendly attitude to it, and make responsible contributions to ensuring regional peace and security.

The DPRK will as ever actively promote regional peace and development and cooperation on the principle of mutual benefit and co-prosperity, thoroughly deter any attempt of the hostile forces to encroach upon the inviolable sovereign rights of the state and firmly defend the core interests of national security. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK )  , issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of  the proclamation of the Law on Sexual Equality in Korea;

  On 30 July 1946, 80 years ago the Provisional People's Committee of north Korea headed by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG passed the Law on Sexual Equality in Korea.

 .For the first time in history made Korean women equal to men and abolished centuries of feudal subjugation which Korean women had to endure. Korean women had been subjected to double and triple oppression by feudalism and imperialism.

    The law proclaimed that Korean women, who were long neglected in society and lived in misery subjected to humiliation and insult, have equal rights with men in all domains of social life including politics, the economy and culture.

First of all, it granted women the same political freedom and rights as men.

All women became able to participate in the election of deputies to power organs at all levels with equal rights with men and enjoy the right to elect and to be elected. It also stipulated that women have equal rights to labour and education with men. The law banned human trafficking and prostitution.

  Today in the DPRK women hold equal rights with men. They hold high official positions as well being deputies to power organs and also managers and directors.

 The DPRK has a wholesome environment. In the West, you can walk into a newspaper shop and see pornography in front of you which objectifies women. However, pornography is nowhere to be seen in the DPRK and prostitution is illegal.

The DPRK stands out as an example of true women's liberation, Juche-based, proletarian and socialist women's liberation! 80 years of women's liberation is a great achievement !

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Wreath to Bier of Kim Jong Im

Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a wreath to the bier of Kim Jong Im, former advisor to the Party History Institute of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea who is winner of Order of Kim Il Sung and Order of Kim Jong Il, expressing deep condolences over her death.

Working in the responsible position of the Party's history research sector under the great loving care and trust of the peerlessly great men for a long time, she had faithfully fulfilled the important duty assigned by the country and the people in the sacred work to defend and add shine to the glorious revolutionary history and traditions of our Party.

The Eighth Congress of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea (SWUK) powerfully demonstrated once again the patriotic will of the Korean women to devote their wisdom and passion for national prosperity.

Women account for half of the world population. When they fulfil their responsibilities and duties in the family and community, the society develops, the era advances and the country’s future becomes rosier.

Under the outstanding leadership of the great leaders, women in our country have created a history and tradition of loyalty and patriotism. They are making outstanding achievements as a powerful force driving one of the wheels of the revolution, not only in the sectors of agriculture and light industry prioritized by the state and the Party but also at scientific research centres of blazing an unknown trail and construction sites of great transformations.

They are as powerful as men in firmly defending the various spheres of overall socialist development and making our society fresh and beautiful.

They bring harmony to their own families while adding a sweet fragrance to the big single-hearted family. Without them, we can think neither of the development of the state and society nor the future of the country.

Thanks to respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who honours women as a powerful driving force in the development of the state and society and opened up a new era of respecting women, women in our country devote their heart and soul to become the cornerstone and foundation of the era, revolution, family and society.

Press Statement on Third Strategic Dialogue between Foreign Ministers of DPRK and Russian Federation

Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- A press statement on the third strategic dialogue between the foreign ministers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation was issued on July 20.

The press statement is as follows:

The third strategic dialogue between Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Sergey Lavrov, foreign minister of the Russian Federation, was held in Moscow on July 20 at a time when the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries is vigorously developing thanks to the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries.

The strategic dialogue between the two foreign ministers involved constructive and beneficial strategic communication, with the main emphasis on the implementation of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, high-level visits, the plan for multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries and diplomatic coordination on major international issues of mutual concern, and reached a consensus on all the issues brought up for discussion.

Acknowledging that the comradely relations of friendship between the heads of state of the two countries serve as the most powerful driving force for guaranteeing the durable and future-oriented development of the DPRK-Russia relations, the two sides reaffirmed their steadfast political will to accelerate the long-term multi-faceted development of the bilateral relations, irrespective of the changing situation, under the strategic guidance at the highest level.

The side of the Russian Federation expressed full support for all efforts and measures of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to oppose all hostile acts posing a serious threat to its present position and the right to development and defend its national sovereign rights and security interests.

The DPRK side expressed invariable support for all the internal and external policies of the Russian Federation to eliminate the root cause of the Ukrainian dispute and defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and international justice from the imperialist moves for hegemony.

To cope with the development of the situation having negative influence on global peace and stability, the two sides agreed to defend the purpose and principles of the UN Charter and other international law with sovereignty equality and non-interference in internal affairs as the core, find solutions to effectively counter the regional and global security challenges and continue the exchange of views between the external policy organs of the two countries including the strategic dialogue at ministerial level.

The third strategic dialogue between the foreign ministers of the DPRK and Russia serves as a significant occasion for further accelerating the comprehensive expansion and development of the bilateral relations and making positive contributions to ensuring regional and global peace and security in conformity with the spirit of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership. -0-

Report of The Livestream “ Confrontation Between the Rifle and the Atomic Bomb “ 18.07.2026

To mark the 73rd anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists , the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held a livestream via Youtube under the title “Confrontation Between the Rifle and the Atomic Bomb “ on the 18th of July at 1530 hours BST . This attracted the participation of KFA UK and British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea members from London ,Scotland , the north west and the south of England as well as international guests from many countries including overseas Korean compatriots in the USA .

A message of congratulations from the DPRK Embassy in London was read out which stated that “July 27, 2026 marks the 73rd anniversary of victory of the Korean people achieved in the Fatherland Liberation War by repulsing the armed invasion by the US imperialists.

In that war, the then two year old DPRK defeated the US, which boasted of being the “strongest” in the world and its satellite forces. It was a miracle unprecedented in history.

The victory in the war was the fruition of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented military ideas, brilliant strategies and tactics and outstanding leadership, as well as the will to defeat the enemy , unparalleled bravery and mass heroism displayed by the Korean, who were firmly rallied around him.”

A message from KFA Switzerland said “The Great Fatherland Liberation War is a model for all struggles of peoples against imperialism and for national liberation and for the defence of independence and sovereignty.

The Korean people encouraged other peoples in their just struggles.

The Korean people became the hero of progressive mankind!

The KPA commanded by the great Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, the invincible Supreme Commander and strategist of Mt. Paektu, was the first army in history which won a military victory over the "super power" United States!”

Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group For the Study explained that in the West the Fatherland Liberation War , which is referred to as the Korean War , is often referred to as the “Unknown War “ or” Forgotten War “.

Dr Hudson  in his presentation said in part    “Respected comrade KIM JONG UN said that “a  confrontation between rifle and atomic bomb.". The Fatherland Liberation War which is referred to as the Korean War in the West even though it was not a war between Koreans but between a small country and an imperialist superpower the US, was truly a David and Goliath struggle of a small and young country against a big country which had been undefeated in many world wars.

July 27th 1953 was the day when the US imperialists finally admitted they could not militarily defeat the DPRK and signed the Korean Armistice Agreement which actually contained a clause stipulating the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the Korean peninsula but the US reneged on this later. Mark Clark the commander of US forces in the War wrote `` "In carrying out the instructions of my government, I gained the unenviable distinction of being the first United States commander in history to sign an armistice without victory.’  and US General Bradley admitted that it was ‘ The wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and with the wrong enemy’. These were confessions of US commanders that they were defeated in the Fatherland Liberation War.”

Questions and discussion followed with questions about the defeat of internal counter-revolutionary traitors , the sinking of US warships and the role of the USSR in the war.

Crime of Japan, Sworn Enemy of Korean Nation

Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The Japanese imperialists, who illegally occupied Korea in last century, committed all sorts of vicious crimes to prevent the Korean people from building a new country before their defeat.

Among them is the crime of deliberately destroying the industrial establishments in Korea.

The Japanese imperialists completely destroyed tens of major equipment and converters, including more than ten compressors at the then Hungnam Fertilizer Factory.

They pulled down 19 hydroelectric power stations and exploded power and transformer facilities at various power stations.

They submerged or destroyed 164 coal mines including Kowon Coal Mine and 178 mines including Unryul Mine. They also mercilessly destroyed railway factories, tunnels, railways, locomotives and wagons.

A typical example is that they drove a train carrying blasting powder into a tunnel of Saenggi Hill in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province and exploded it and throw into the sea all the machinery and equipment of the then Rajin Railway Factory.

They took away all the available vehicles when they run away.

Soon after the liberation of the country on August 15, 1945, there was no vehicle and facilities in the railway sector, and the railway operation came to standstill.

Such situation of railway transport, which accounted for over 90 per cent of the total passenger and freight transport, seriously hindered our people’s struggle for building a new society and the overall development of the national economy.

The Korean people can not rehabilitate the destroyed factories and enterprises because of the shortage of transport and operate the factories owing to the failure of the transport of raw and other fuel and other materials to the production places in time.

The Japanese imperialists thoroughly destroyed water transport facilities.

At the time of their defeat, they buried 70 machine ships amounting to 99 000 tons at sea in various ports and destroyed facilities including Chongjin and Rajin ports and small ferry facilities used in river transport.

The destruction of the industrial establishments in Korea is a hideous criminal act to prevent the Korean people from using them as an economic basis for political independence and as material means for creating a new life and improving their well-being after the liberation of the country. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI)and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK )  ,) issued a joint statement on the occasion of  the 73rd anniversary of the victory of the Korean people, led by great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists;

The Korean people led by great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung defeated US imperialism on the battlefield some 73 years ago. July 27th  is celebrated by the Korean people as their second liberation day. It is an inspiration not only for the Korean people but for Juche idea followers, Songun idea followers and anti-imperialist fighters the world over so July 27th is celebrated across the globe from Bogotá to Belfast! 

Dear respected Chairman Kim Jong Un said "Our July 27 is the second Day of Liberation when our people defended with honour their country's dignity and sovereignty from the brigandish aggression by the U.S. imperialists, and also the day of proud victors that put the U.S. imperialists, who were recklessly attempting to gain hegemony in the world and enslave it, on a downhill march towards ruin."
                                     
                               

                          

  The heroic and glorious KPA commanded by the great leader Marshal Kim Il Sung tore the guts out of US imperialism. The US imperialists lost over 1,567,128 men including 405,498 US soldiers, 1,130,965 south Korean puppet troops, and 30,665 soldiers of their satellite states were killed, wounded or captured; 12,224 aeroplanes including "air fortress B-29" were downed, damaged or captured, 7,695 guns, 3,255 233 tanks and armoured cars were lost; and 564 warships and vessels including the heavy cruiser Baltimore and the flagship of Seventh Fleet Missouri were sunk or damaged. The loss suffered by the US imperialists was nearly 2.3 times greater than what they had suffered in the four years of the Pacific War during World War II. Even official US statistics showed during each of the three years of the Korean war they lost double the troops for each year of the Vietnam War.
    US General Mark Clark lamented mournfully that he was the first US commander to conclude an armistice without a victory.
   The Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people was an unequal battle as the US imperialists threw in huge armed forces plus the troops of 15 of their satellite countries as well the Japanese militarists not to mention the south Korean puppets. The US imperialists used barbaric methods of warfare exceeding those of the Hitlerlite Nazis. They used germ and chemical warfare and carried out horrendous massacres. All these failed to subdue the Korean people who under the wise leadership of the great revolutionary leader Marshal Kim Il Sung achieved a great victory. The forces of the heroic KPA defeated the so-called "Invincible US 24th Division", taking its commander General Dean prisoner. Dean was the first US general to be captured by an opposing side. The KPA turned Height 1211 into a hill of heartbreak for the US imperialist aggressors.
                                   
                                             

   The KPA and Korean people fought in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance based on the Juche Idea. The great revolutionary leader Marshal Kim Il Sung stated that “We must solve our problems no matter who is helping us and what help we get......Victory must be won by our strength” " It was their efforts that were primary in defeating the US imperialist aggressors"
   In the Fatherland Liberation War commanded by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung, the reactionary bourgeois military theory was smashed by the Juche- orientated revolutionary military strategy and theory. Generalissimo Kim Il Sung continually stressed that the outcome of war is not determined by weapons or technology but by those who wield the weapons. . The victory of the Korean people led by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung shattered  revisionist and pacifist theories about peaceful co-existence and 'non-violence'
 The Korean People's Army commanded by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung was a true people's army, an army of justice and liberation. It assisted the people. A strong spirit of Army-People unity prevailed throughout society. Summing up the significance of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. The great revolutionary leader Marshal  Kim Il Sung said
"In this great struggle our people fought determinedly as one in mind under the correct leadership of the party and government and thereby withstood the harsh trials of war honourably and won a historic victory inflicting an ignominious defeat on US imperialism and its running dogs"

 "It was a great revolutionary war of worldwide significance, a war in which our people defended their motherland and inflicted the first-ever defeat on US imperialism, the ringleader of world imperialism, by waging a national, heroic struggle."
 Dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un said that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War " was a military miracle unprecedented in the war history of mankind and a great feat of historical significance never seen before in the nation's history spanning 5 000 years."
     The Fatherland Liberation War ended in victory due to the Juche-orientated military tactics, Juche-orientated military thought and brilliant commanding art of the great leader supreme commander Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the sublime heroism of the KPA. The myth of US invincibility was smashed to smithereens in the Fatherland Liberation War.  The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War inspired national liberation and revolutionary movements all over the world to struggle against the colonial system of the US-led imperialists bringing about an era of decline for  US imperialism an era of anti-imperialism. US imperialism's defeat in Korea preceded its defeat in Vietnam and elsewhere. The Korean people's victory in the Fatherland liberation war was a great contribution to the world revolutionary movement as it showed that US imperialism could be stopped in its tracks and beaten.               
   July 27th, the Day of Victory will shine eternally not only in the hearts and minds of the Korean people but the world progressives! The spirit of July 27th will inspire the Korean people to march onward and smash the sanctions of the hostile forces .

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Korean Friendship Association UK issued the following joint statement  in support of the Press Statement of Spokesman for DPRK Ministry of National Defence which was issued on the 18th of July;

The press statement of the DPRK Ministry of National Defence of the 18t of July highlighted the fact that the US , Republic of Korea (ROK ) and Japan on the 15th of July agreed to further strengthen military co-operation against the DPRK . This three reactionary states ganging up on the DPRK to threaten and browbeat it . The US , ROK and Japan plan to hold the Freedom Edge war exercises against the DPRK .

The DPRK Ministry of National Defence  duly " cautions about the danger of the provocative trilateral military cooperation that creates a possibility for worrisome military confrontation and conflict in the Korean peninsula and gives a stern warning about its negative consequences for the regional security environment."

The US along with 30 other countries is currently staging the RIMPAC exercises which are slated to end on the 31st of July . On the 13th of July the US and ROK  staged the "Buddy Squadron " exercise with 4,400 . The US has also stationed a nuclear submarine in Guam .

The DPRK Ministry of National Defence is absolutely right to draw attention to these dangerous developments which threaten peace on the Korean peninsula and Asia-Pacific region. Moreover the DPRK is correct to take relevant measures to deter aggression and threats by the US , ROK and Japan .

On the 73rd anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War July 27, 2026 marks the 73rd anniversary of victory the Korean people achieved in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) by repulsing the armed invasion by the imperialist allied forces headed by the United States. 

 The then two-year-old Democratic People’s Republic of Korea defeated the United States, which had been boasting of being the “strongest” in the world, and its satellite forces, in the three-year war. It was a miracle unprecedented in history. 

 The victory in the war was the fruition of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented military ideas, brilliant strategies and tactics and unexcelled leadership, as well as the will to defeat the enemy, unparalleled bravery and mass heroism displayed by the Korean people, who were firmly rallied around him. 

 Regarding the great spiritual strength of the masses as a decisive factor in achieving victory in the war, Supreme Commander Kim Il Sung put forward the slogan Everything for Victory in the War! and aroused all the people and soldiers for the sacred struggle for defending their motherland. 

 He created unique strategies, tactics and art of war, including immediate and decisive counterattack against the enemy’s surprise armed invasion, formation of the second front by regular army units, powerful general counteroffensive, positive positional defence, night action, tunnel warfare, aircraft- and tank-hunting team movements and snipers’ team activity, paralyzing the enemy’s numerical and technical superiority. 

 He also met the soldiers of the Korean People’s Army and other people, instilling confidence, courage and wisdom in them. His affection and trust served as a source of strength for them in performing heroic feats and achieving victory in the war. 

 Thus he not only defended the prestige, honour and sovereignty of his country and its independent development environment but also firmly safeguarded the peace of humankind by checking and crushing the US strategy for world domination and preventing another world war. His exploits will shine generation after generation.
