Soon the Korean people and true friends of People’s Korea throughout the world will greet the 9th anniversary of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN becoming supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea .On the 11th of April 2012 he was elected as First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea(WPK) by the 4th Conference of the WPK and on the 13th of April the Supreme People's Assembly elected Marshal KIM JONG UN as First Chairman of the National Defence Commission so basically he took the highest leadership positions of the Party and State after previously been appointed by the Political Bureau of the WPK as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army at the end of December 2011. This was a manifestation of the trust of the Korean people for respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well as their profound support for him . The Western mainstream media continually gloss over the fact that Marshal KIM JONG UN was not appointed to the position of supreme leadership but actually elected . The Workers’ Party of Korea is a party with millions of members from all walks of life in the DPRK , it is the organiser and guide of the Korean people . Therefore the fact that the 4th Conference of the WPK elected Marshal KIM JONG UN as First Secretary of the Party was basically an expression of the will of the Korean people to have Marshal KIM JONG UN as their supreme leader. Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN pledged to carry forward the work of the great leaders President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL . Nine years ago on KIM IL SUNG square on the 15th of April Marshal KIM JONG UN , addressing the military parade to mark to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG ,said that “The permanent strategy of our revolution and its final victory lie in marching straight along the road of independence, the road of Songun and the road of socialism as indicated by President KIM IL SUNG and General KIM JONG IL " This was a declaration that People’s Korea would follow the great road of independence , the road of Juche that had been mapped out by the great leaders of the Korean revolution and People’s Korea.It was the first public speech made by Marshal KIM JONG UN. I myself was actually present at the April 15th military parade and vividly remember the speech which was wonderfully translated by my translator Professor Ri . I listened to it with great excitement . Indeed it can be said that the speech marked that the beginning of the era of Marshal KIM JONG UN in People’s Korea and the world .
Since then People’s Korea has not looked back . Marshal KIM JONG UN has proved himself to be not only a most capable leader and a true successor to the great leaders of Mt Paektu but also a dynamic leader and a people’s leader. During the nine years of Marshal KIM JONG UN’s supreme leadership the DPRK has achieved victories on all fronts such as the economy , military , living standards and international affairs . Despite the extreme sanctions of the hostile forces which have been tightened up , the economy of People’s Korea has continued to grow and many new factories and enterprises have gone into operation during the past nine years . New streets and even new cities have appeared . Covid 19 has claimed nearly 3 million lives worldwide and whole countries have been devastated but People’s Korea has not had a single case of Covid 19 and was able to hold the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea as well the historic 8th Congress of the WPK in January 2021. The DPRK shut its borders nearly 15 months but the situation is stable and normal , some countries would not last a day with their borders shut.
Under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the DPRK crossed the nuclear finishing line . It is both a H bomb power and an ICBM(Intercontinental Ballistic Missile ) power . Only a few countries in the world have their own ICBMs (Britain abandoned its ICBM programme by the early 1970s ) . The DPRK’s external relations were actively expanded by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . He held meetings with the leaders of neigbouring countries such as China and Russia and had a total of 7 summits with leaders of different countries. The DPRK has strongly defended its independence and its interests , it has hit back at the plots of the hostile forces by taking measures such as severing relations with Malaysia . The nine years of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN ‘s supreme leadership have been nine years of great leadership and great victories . I am sure that under the guidance of supreme leader Marshal KIM JONG UN the Korean people fighting in the spirit of self-reliance will overcome all challenges and march forward towards even greater victories.
