The Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea importantly referred to the issue on preserving the nature of socialist commerce of serving the people.
In the socialist society commerce is a means for increasing the material and cultural life of the people.
Commerce serves the people. Herein lie the fundamental characteristics and superiority of the socialist commerce.
In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea shops are rebuilt or built to provide the people with greatest conveniences.
In order to fully meet the desire and demand of the people, the shops are secured with good-quality daily necessaries and mass consumer goods and concrete measures taken to keep up the supply of commodities in great demand.
The service workers are offering better services with high consciousness that they are servants for the people. They are conducting service activities according to the demand and liking of the people.
With the viewpoint that the people's demand is precisely the standard of their service activities, they are carefully listening to the customers and constantly improving their services. They are affording conveniences in the people's everyday life through order, delivery and mobile sale and actively introducing advanced service methods.
While giving field guidance to the newly built Changgwang Shop, the respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, said the commercial workers' service for the people is directly related to the issue of displaying the superiority of the socialist system and the service workers should devote themselves to their service activities with the consciousness that they are faithful servants for the people.
It is a political demand of the WPK to make our commerce the service activities for the people that ensure the living of the people and improve their material well-being.
