The Korean Friendship Association of the UK held an online Annual General Meeting and commemoration of the 57th anniversary of the start of work of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL at the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea , on the 19th of June at 1430 hours BST .
The meeting was attended by KFA UK members from all over Britain and regional branches from Staffordshire , Scotland and the West of England . KFA Cambodia participated as an observer as did a guest from Canada .
Congratulatory messages were received from KFA President Alejandro Cao De Benos , from the DPRK Embassy , London , the DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations/ DPRK Committee for Friendship with Britain , the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea , KFA Singapore and KFA UK South Coast. The message from the Korean Committee with Friendship with Britain read in part ‘ This year is a very significant year which marks 20 years of history of KFA UK. For the past two decades, KFA UK has always been in the frontline of friendship and solidarity activities with DPRK and made great achievements. No words could match your efforts, we would just like to emphasize that we are grateful and appreciate your contributions highly.” KFA President Alejandro Cao De Benos stressed that ‘ KFA-UK is one of our most active branches in the world, from conferences to interviews, from pickets to the publication of People's Korea Today , your pace and spirit is inspirational and unmatchable. Being a m’odel, many newcomers will be assisted by KFA-UK for training and advice’ . The DPRK embassy London said ‘ Our embassy highly appreciate that KFA of Britain has been struggling to strengthen the association and defend the rights and interest of working people since its foundation 20 years ago ‘ .The message of the AINDF Pyongyang Mission read in part ‘ The UK Korean Friendship Association has followed the Juche idea and supported the DPRK for two decades, while making dynamic activities backing the Korean people’s efforts to build a socialist power.’
Dr Dermot Hudson KFA UK Chairman spoke about the 20th anniversary of the foundation of KFA UK saying that ‘ It was KFA UK who took the struggle to defend People’s Korea to the streets and picketed the US embassy , south Korean puppet embassy , the BBC, Channel Four and the Ministry of Defence ...
... Of course it has never been easy , far from it . The establishment and the elite do not want to see pro-active and energetic

Speaking about the 57th anniversary of the start of work of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL at the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea Dr Dermot Hudson said that ‘ 57 years ago On June 19, 1964 Kim Jong Il started working at the Central Committee of the Party.
His start of working at the WPK Central Committee was an event of great importance.
His leadership enabled the WPK to hold up the Juche idea authored by President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the WPK, as its immutable guiding ideology, guiding ideal.
The Juche idea, which clarifies that one is responsible for one’s own destiny and one has also the capacity for shaping it, is the ideology showing the way for the masses of the people to shape their own destiny by their own efforts.”
Reports of work were made by the KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson , also by Staffordshire KFA , West of England KFA UK and a brief verbal report from Scotland . Dr Hudson said KFA UK had grown on Facebook despite obstructions from Facebook .Despite the Covid 19 pandemic KFA UK has been very active and held many online events. Staffordshire KFA explained that they had gained Facebook page likes and posted a lively selection of different news items about the DPRK as well as holding local events . KFA UK West of England explained their branch was a new one and its Facebook page provided plenty of different materials .
Dr Hudson said weaknesses and imbalances in KFA UK must be addressed and KFA UK further strengthened.
A KFA UK Constitution was adopted without dissension .
The ‘March Declaration ‘ in support of the DPRK was adopted .
Comrade Alan Bolon was elected KFA UK Organisation Secretary with unanimous support .
Dr Dermot Hudson made a short presentation on the subject of the provocation of the Fatherland Liberation War pointing out that war was started by the south Korean puppets on the orders of the US .
Dr Hudson referred to the 5th anniversary of the election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK saying that ‘ The election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission five years ago on the 29th of June 2016 fully reflected the enthusiastic support of the entire Korean people for the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is leading the Korean people to victory !I’
DIscussions were held on the way forward for KFA UK .
A toast to the 20th anniversary of KFA UK was drunk (online ).
A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
