The forthcoming 8th July will mark the 27th anniversary of the demise of the Great President Kim Il Sung.
Although 27 years have passed after the demise of President Kim Il Sung, the world progressive people' voice of praise and respect for him only gets louder as the days pass by.
President Kim Il Sung is a great ideological theoretician who enunciated the guiding ideology of the era of independence – Juche Idea and also the sun of Korean nation who liberated the motherland from the Japanese colonial rule and established Democratic People' Republic of Korea, the independent socialist power.
He defended the country defeating the world power US imperialists and constructed a genuine people' paradise by accelerating socialist construction.
President Kim Il Sung also contributed great efforts for global independence and rendered sincere assistance to the struggles for national independence and development of many countries. He also attached great importance to the principle that all progressive movements such as socialist movement and non-aligned movement should be loyal to the ideas and ideals of their own.
He fully supported the national liberation struggles of the peoples of the colonized countries and he told them of every experience of our country when they visited our country to discuss the issues arising in the struggle of the construction of a new society.
Regardless of east and west, all state leaders and prominent figures who met him praised the greatness of him and ex-president of USA Jimmy Carter even said that President Kim Il Sung is greater than George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln altogether.
In this context, preparation committees are formed in many countries every year on the occasion of his demise and hold various activities such as events, books and photo exhibitions. Although recently it was a difficult time due to COVID-19, these activities still go on online.
