The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) has learnt of the arrest in south Korea of Mr Kim Seung Kyun , the owner of publisher of the ' "Minjok Sarangbang' newspaper . Mr Kim was arrested under the National Security Law for the mere reason that the Minjok Sarangbang has published ' With The Century ' the reminiscences of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . ' With The Century ' is an internationally acclaimed work with deep historical content as well ideological and philosophical content . Mr Kim and his staff face several years in jail .
KFA UK strongly denounces the action of the south Korean authorities in arresting Mr Kim . What is shows that south Korea is not the 'human rights paradise ' that the imperialists and their mainstream media pretend it is . In fact freedom of expression and freedom of thought is trampled down in south Korea . The National Security Law under which Mr Kim has been arrested is a fascist style law which is based on Japanese colonial laws .
We call for the immediate release of Mr Kim Seung Kyun and the staff of the "Minjok Sarangbang' newspaper .
