On September 9, Juche 37(1948), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea declared its founding all over the world.
It was a noteworthy event which opened a new origin of building a genuine independent, sovereign state for the first time in the 5,000-year-long history of the nation and a solemn declaration heralding the start of building a powerful country.
A Country Independent, Self-Sufficient and Self-Reliant in Defence
After its foundation, the DPRK started a new historic advance for the freedom and happiness of the people, for the building of a powerful independent, sovereign state and for the building of a country demonstrating its dignity and honour on the world arena.
In the early 1950s the Korean people won victory in the three-year war against the armed invasion of the imperialist forces and honourably defended the freedom and independence of the country under the guidance of the great leader Kim Il Sung.
The Korean people finished the postwar rehabilitation and construction only in a few years in the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude and successfully carried out the historic task of socialist industrialization in 14 years at the "speed of Chollima".
During the postwar rehabilitation and socialist construction, the DPRK built the independent economy by itself when others were trying to get benefit from a big country by acceding to the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. It also extraordinarily strengthened its self-reliant defense capability in order to safeguard the country and guarantee prosperity of the nation.
The DPRK was built into a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.
Under the Banner of Songun
In the early 1990s socialist countries collapsed in east Europe. Taking advantage of it, the imperialists, talking about the "end of socialism", persisted in their vicious moves to suffocate the DPRK invariably advancing under the banner of socialism.
Korea was at the crossroads of life and death; whether to defend the socialist country or become slave kneeling down before the imperialists.
Just at the time, the great leader Kim Jong Il enforced the Songun(military-first) politics.
The Director of the Myanmar Medical Research Institute, in a press statement he issued in February on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, stressed that the greatest of the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il is that he defended the sovereignty of the country and the destiny of the nation and firmly guaranteed peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the world under the banner of Songun in the period of the unprecedentedly harsh trials.
With the might of Songun, the DPRK could overcome difficulties and trials of the 1990s and rise up as a symbol of justice, dignity, victory and glory.
Without Any Deviation
Today, the DPRK is advancing along the orbit of independence without any deviation under the guidance of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
The international community is speaking highly of the DPRK as a powerful country with firm independent principle and a country winning a miraculous victory even in grave circumstances.
Addressing the international seminar on the "Juche Idea and 70 Years of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" held in Pyongyang in September 2018, Harish Gupta, Director of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, said:
"The DPRK led by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un displays its dignity as an independent powerful country and brings about prosperity.
Independence is a life and soul of a country and nation.
The DPRK, on the principle of independence, maintains independent stand in all fields of politics, economy, military, culture and foreign relations to oppose flunkyism, dogmatism and other ideas of dependence on outside forces, reject every foreign intervention and pressure and decide and do everything as it wishes in conformity with its own demands and interests, irrespective of any established theories and formula."
In June, the newspaper network "China International Economy TV" blogged an article, which reads:
Over the past four years leader Kim Jong Un has brought about miraculous victories surprising the world people, showing his outstanding wisdom, political ability and lofty personality as great man to the whole world. Despite the harsh circumstances, he has put the national power and position of the DPRK on the highest plane with his infinite loyalty to the revolution, steel-like faith and tenacious action. Thanks to him, Korea will be crowned with greater victory and glory.
Under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the DPRK will, in the future, too, advance vigorously along the road of independence and prosper infinitely with independence.
