The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA)and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula issued a joint statement on the 30th anniversary of the June 10th popular uprising in south Korea,
On June 10, 1987, the south Korean people courageously rose in resistance against the pro-U.S. military fascist dictatorship violating justice and truth at the point of bayonet.
The June Popular Resistance was an eruption of the pent-up resentment and grudge toward the U.S. imperialists' colonial domination and the military dictatorial rule and a just action that brought earlier the end of the military fascist dictatorship of the puppet Chun Do Hwan .
However the aspirations and dreams of those who took part in the uprising still have not been realised as the fascist National Security Law remains in force and the remnants of the old fascist regimes in south Korea have been not been liquidated .
The struggle for complete democratisation , independence and reunification must continue.
