GIs Should Be Driven out of S. Korea: Spokesman for Nationwide Special Committee on GIs' Crimes

Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- In south Korea the pro-American traitors recently launched such burlesque as "ceremony" marking the centenary of founding of the U.S. army 2nd division stationed there, only to be cursed and censured by the public.

The farce which began with a "celebration concert" on June 10 will reportedly last until October 26 when the 2nd Division was founded, expecting various "events" including ex-GIs' tour of south Korea and a ceremony of unveiling a sculpture symbolic of "south Korea-U.S. friendship".

A spokesman for the North-side Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind the GIs' Crimes in a statement on Saturday terms the "ceremony" and behavior of the south Korean authorities patronizing it a treacherous act out of the bad habit of kowtowing to the U.S. and inveterate idea of submission to big powers, and an unpardonable reckless act going against history and the trend of the times oriented to independence.

The statement says:

The U.S. imperialist aggression troops in south Korea are a horde of gangsters and brutes who have perpetrated all sorts of crimes such as murder, plunder, theft and rape for more than 7 decades in south Korea.

Nevertheless, the pro-U.S. elements gave a "congratulatory concert" for the GIs murderers, spending money collected as taxes from south Koreans. This is just an act of treachery and a shameless deed of disregarding the nation's indignation at the U.S.

As long as the U.S. imperialists occupy south Korea and the traitors existing on sycophancy toward the U.S. are allowed to run wild, south Koreans can never escape from sustained sufferings, misfortune and disaster.

The way to end this disgrace and distress and retrieve dignity and sovereignty of the nation is to drive the U.S. imperialist aggression forces, the source of all misfortune and disasters, out of south Korea.

People of various circles in south Korea should wage a stronger massive struggle to get the GIs withdrawn from south Korea, piercing the true colors and nature of the U.S. as cruel aggressors, and resolutely disrupt the above-said "ceremony" of the pro-U.S. conservative group. -0
