STATEMENT BY THE STAFFORDSHIRE BRANCH OF THE KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION (UK)
"OPPOSE THE UNJUST AND AGGRESSIVE UNSC RESOLUTION 2270"

The Staffordshire branch of the UK KFA totally condemns the biased and unnecessary sanctions put against the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea by the United Nations' Security Council over the issues of the H-Bomb and Satellite launch, passed on March 2nd. In adopting Resolution 2270, the UNSC has imposed some of the most stringent and vicious sanctions ever placed against a UN member state, since the Second World War. In effect, the imperialists and their collaborators have declared a state of war against the DPRK. The UNSC's recent sanctions can seen as a blatant act of aggression and an attempted negation of the DPRK's sovereignty.

It is to be regretted that some countries which had sled blood in the cause of proletarian internationalism and the big power chauvinists have joined the chorus of aggression. This resolution does not reflect the aspirations of the international community, which wants of a world of peaceful and independence.

The DPRK has never violated the sovereignty of other nations or invaded other countries, throughout its existence. Peoples Korea has a track record of assisting those peoples and nations who struggle for national and social liberation. Socialist Korea's foreign policy has been one of peace, friendship and independence. Time and again, it has been the DPRK Government which has placed proposals for a Peace Treaty with the USA and for the Peaceful Independent Reunification of the Korean peninsula. It has be remember that aimed at the population of the northern half of the Korea, are a thousand US nuclear warheads and forty thousand American troops. If the DPRK is ever attacked by the US imperialists aggressors, the Korean People and Army, led by the Leader and the Party, will defend with determination, the socialism and independence of their country.

The Staffordshire Branch of the UK KFA calls on the UNSC to rescind this warlike resolution and instead endeavour in the spirit of the United Nations' Charter, for the peaceful and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula. We the friends of Korea throughout the county of Staffordshire urge all peace campaigners, anti-imperialists, socialists and trade unionists, and every progressive person to actively oppose this UNSC resolution and sanctions, and work for solidarity with the Korean people!  Fight the propaganda offensive of imperialism and join the Korean Friendship Association!
