KCNA Commentary on Nature of Situation Prevailing on Korean Peninsula

 Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- A renowned expert on international law recently asserted that it is not the DPRK but the U.S. which threatens peace as the latter poses military threat to the former to bring it down.
    This is a right view on the nature of the situation on the Korean peninsula now inching closer to the brink of a nuclear war due to the U.S.
    The world is now following the situation on the peninsula with deep concern.
    The U.S. is making last-ditch efforts to plunge the peninsula into a nuclear disaster while staging largest-ever hysteric war drills with huge nuclear weapons and special operation forces involved.
    The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces are pulling the wool over the eyes of the world public with their nonsensical claim that the DPRK is threatening peace though they have turned south Korea into a theater of horrible nuclear war.
    It is not the independent DPRK but the U.S. which is harassing peace on the peninsula as it is working hard to stifle the former, regarding it as thorn in its flesh.
    An article posted on the Canadian website Global Research on March 8 commented that the DPRK has never been in peace owing to the ceaseless joint military drills and harsh sanctions of the U.S. and the south Korean sides against it, adding that it is because the former is struggling against imperialism while adhering to its own principle, and advancing along the road chosen by itself.
    The Obama government has pursued the policy of "strategic patience" in the whole period of its office to isolate and stifle the DPRK. Taken aback by the might of the dynamically advancing DPRK, Washington is seeking a way out in launching a nuclear war.
    The madcap Key Resolve and Foal Eagle 16 joint military drills now underway in south Korea are the most undisguised and unprecedented war rehearsals for invading the north as they involve almost all three types of strategic nuclear striking means of the U.S.
    Kicking off the largest-ever madcap joint military drills throughout south Korea, pursuant to the dangerous war scenario aimed to strike the supreme leadership of the DPRK and "bring down its social system", the warmongers have entered the phase of carrying out "the scenario for attack drill part 2" since March 14.
    The keynote of the "scenario" which escalated the above-said joint military drills is an "operation for advance into the northern inland area" targeting the strategic key area of the DPRK.
    The U.S. forces present in south Korea test-fired M270A1 in the area near the Military Demarcation Line on March 9 as a back-up rehearsal of the on-going joint military drills, pursuant to their scenario to scorch various areas of the DPRK.
    The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK were quite just when they kept themselves fully ready to mount a preemptive attack to cope with the ever more undisguised moves of the hostile forces for a nuclear war.
    It is a suicidal act for the U.S. to calculate that it can test against the DPRK the mean special operations the former staged in various countries in the past.
    The world will clearly see what miserable end the aggressors, provocateurs will meet for resorting to the reckless moves to hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and "bring down its social system." -0-
