We are meeting here in Pyongyang, the capital city of Juche Korea at a significant time when the Korean people led by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN are working hard, in the spirit of self-development and self-reliance to implement the decisions of the historic congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea. It was at this Congress that the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN was elected as Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea; this was cheered with joy by the entire Korean people and acclaimed by the world revolutionary peoples.
The 7th Congress of the WPK was a congress of victors as it was held at a time when the US imperialists and world reactionaries have doubled and trebled their efforts to stifle People’s Korea and destroy Juche socialism by all kind of means notably sanctions, military exercises and psychological warfare. The holding of the Congress dealt a blow to the imperialists by solidifying the single hearted unity of the popular masses around the Party and the leader. Only a Great party, the Workers Party of Korea, led by great and respected Chairman KIM JONG UN could hold such a congress in the face of the desperate challenges of the US and other imperialists.
The Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK has studied the speech made on the report of work to the 7th Congress of the WPK and would like to share our thoughts with you.
Dear respected comrade KIM JONG UN in the report reviewed the proud achievements that had been made since the holding of the 6th Congress of the WPK. Great achievements had been made in all fields of work. The main achievement is that the DPRK adhered firmly to the socialist road when others fall by the wayside and betrayed the revolution. Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN points that the DPRK did not succumb to pressure nor did it compromise with imperialism because it was guided by Juche and Songun, saying that
“Our Party resolutely overpowered the imperialists and crushed their outrageous pressure and challenges by responding with the tougher countermeasure of wielding a sword when the enemy were drawing a knife and levelling a cannon when they were pointing a gun. With the spirit of the arms of Songun it raised a shield to the indecent wind of bourgeois liberalism and ‘reform’ and ‘opening-up’ blowing in from around us, allowing us to advance straight ahead along the road of socialism, as we chose.
Following the end of the Cold War, several countries abandoned their principles and opted for compromise and submission, overawed by the US military pressure and high-handedness. But the Workers' Party of Korea maintained the stand of anti-imperialist independence and socialist principles without the slightest vacillation. Its fighting experience shows that still now, during the showdown of strength with imperialism, the principles of anti-imperialist independence and socialism can be defended and maintained by powerful arms alone, not by rhetoric.”
It inspires with great confidence and hope in the future that the DPRK has rejected “reform” and “opening up” and has advanced along the socialist road.
Respected Comrade KIM JONG UN paid tribute to the great leaders President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL and called for holding them in high esteem as the eternal leaders of the Korean revolution.
Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN put forward a most dynamic and intelligent programme for completing the socialist cause. Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN pledged to carry out the behests of the great leaders comrades KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL. The line of independence, Songun and socialism will be adhered to. Society will be modelled on KIMILSUNGISM-KIMJONGILISM. There will be no deviation from the Juche Idea and the Songun idea. This is very heartening for Juche Idea and Songun idea followers throughout the world.
The general line of the WPK of pushing ahead with the three revolutions--ideological, technical and cultural will actively carried out by strengthening the people's government. The DPRK will carry unified state guidance of the economy and develop people's living standards. As Marshal KIM JONG UN says “the spirit of self-development first is the revolutionary spirit of strengthening the motive force of a nation and opening up the path ahead of it by relying on its own efforts, technology and resources.
The history of the Korean revolution is the one of self-development; the revolution was pioneered and has advanced victoriously by means of it. The basis of this spirit is the great leaders' revolutionary idea that a country must carry out the revolution on its own, and the form of struggle for applying it is self-reliance and fortitude. The great leaders' spirit of self-reliance and self-development based on the principle that man is the master of his destiny and should carve out his destiny by himself, inspired our people to become stronger than anyone else in spiritual strength, not knowing the word impossible, and to develop theirs into an indisputably powerful nation.”
We Juche Idea followers of the UK applaud the self-development first idea believing it to be a profoundly anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist and anti-globalisation idea.
Basically by adhering to the line of the three revolutions as well and calling for the shattering of imperialist ideological and cultural infiltration as well the adherence to economic planning dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has dealt a blow to the imperialists, revisionists, hidden enemies and traitors to socialism who had hoped that the 7th Congress of the WPK that a "reform " and "opening up " policy would be adopted.
Turning his attention to the burning question of global independence, which is the aspiration of the progressive people of the whole world dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN says that “All countries and nations aspiring after independence should never harbour any expectation and illusion about the imperialists' cunning double-dealing tactics and hypocritical ‘aid,’ but preserve the Juche character and national identity.”
This is a great anti-imperialist line for the world revolution. The world revolutionary people should uphold the call of the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well as the example of the DPRK by establishing the Juche character and national identity by kicking the imperialists and foreign exploiters out of their countries! In the UK we took a step towards preserving the “Juche character and national identity” when on the 23rd of June the UK voted to leave the imperialist European Union!
To conclude, the speech of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN on the report of work of the Central Committee of the WPK is a most impressive document.
The report to the 7th Congress of the WPK is an encyclopaedic programme for completing the Juche revolutionary cause by building a thriving socialist country and achieving independent reunification, it is also a great document showing the way forward for the world revolutionary peoples to fight imperialism and win victory in the world revolution!
