Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace

The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace was opened on May 2, 1989 in thedeep care of President Kim Il Sung and Leader Kim Jong Il. It is a base for theall-round extracurricular education of the schoolchildren in Korea It is located in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang City.
Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un looked round it in May, 2014 when he put forth a task to reconstruct it to the world-best palace of
children, and gave instructions to hundreds of blueprints.
The reconstruction was completed in December, 2015.
The exterior takes a form of the embraceof the Workers’ Party of Korea for thechildren. It is bedecked with graniteand quality materials with high dignity.In the entrance hall there is an autographic proposition of PresidentKim Il Sung which goes: Children are the treasure of the nation and the future of Korea belongs to them.
With a building area of over 100,000㎡the palace is composed of the scienceblock, arts block, gymnasium and indoor swimming pool.
It has about 150 various group rooms, drilling rooms and a 2,000-capacity theatre which suit to the modern aesthetictastes and children’s feelings and can accommodate any performances.
There are also a typical science hall witha large-sized relief map of Korea and amodel of the satellite carrier rocket Unha-3 and an arts hall for a rest and publicpresentation of their skill.
Besides, outdoors thereare a sport ground and driving drilling ground.
The palace has a four-storied dormitory for the schoolchildren from local provinces.
The blessed children of Korea are nowdeveloping their talent to their
heart’s content in the palace renewed under the warm love of respected MarshalKim Jong Undevoting his all to the work
for the rising generation saying that the country is bright only when the laughter of children is hig.
