Mounting action against THAAD deployment

Mounting action against THAAD deployment
The Seongju Committee for Struggle against THAAD Deployment, the Gimcheon Citizens Measure Committee for Checking THAAD Deployment, the Seongju Emergency Measure Committee for Defending Holy Land of Won Buddhism and other organizations held a press conference in Seoul on April 28 to denounce the US for imposing cost for the THAAD deployment.
The US is forcing the south Korean authorities to pay 1 billion US dollars as the cost for the THAAD deployment, they noted.
The payment for the THAAD deployment forced by the US is quite different from the government’s view that south Korea only offers a site and basic facilities and the US shoulders all the expenses for the deployment, they said and noted the deployment itself is peppered with illegality and falsity.
Those who gave a green light to the deployment of THAAD should immediately leave their offices and all the presidential nominees should clarify their attitude of the withdrawal of THAAD deployment, they noted.
They at the conference said that they will fight it out with all possible means and methods for the withdrawal of THAAD deployment.
Inhabitants and members of the Seongju Committee for Struggle against THAAD Deployment called a press conference in front of a hall in Seongju on April 28. They criticized the GIs who took photograph of the inhabitants protesting against the introduction of THAAD, while laughing at them.
They strongly demanded an official apology of the commander of the US forces in south Korea and speedy withdrawal of THAAD.
They charged the US President who spouted ridiculous jargons forcing south Korea to pay 1 billion US dollars as the cost for the THAAD deployment.
After the press conference, the inhabitants of Sengju County and Gimcheon City of the North Gyeongsang Province blocked the road leading to the Seongju golf course with tractors.

The riot police men forcibly took the protesters to a police station.
