Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , the Juche Idea Study Group of England, the UK Korean Friendship Association and the UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu the issued the following joint statement in support of the statement issued on the 27th of May by the National Peace Committee of Korea(NPCK) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ;
In south Korea the struggle against the deployment of THAAD (the so-called Terminal High Altitude Area Defense of the US imperialists) has intensified . However the pro-US conservative
forces of south Korea are trying to block this struggle and the new south Korean authorities have taken an ambivalent attitude.
However there is no room for sitting on the fence because THAAD is a grave threat to peace and the existence of the Korean nation !. As the DPRK NPCK states " To deploy THAAD or to withdraw it would serve as a cornerstone discerning the acts of sycophancy toward outsiders from the stand of prioritizing the nation, and there should be no compromise here"
Basically the deployment of THAAD turns south Korea into a launchpad for a massive US nuclear war against the DPRK and the rest of Asia. It makes south Korea into a theatre of confrontation of the big nuclear -powers. Those who condone the deployment of THAAD are even worse than those who
betrayed the Korean nation to the Japanese imperialists in the early 20th century .
The issue of THAAD will determine who has the genuine interests of the Korean nation at heart.
We support the demands for the total and unconditional withdrawal of THAAD!
NO TO THAAD!
