The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued a joint statement in support of the letter  to the  UN  Secretary General sent by the DPRK permanent representative at the UN :
  The Permanent Representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) at the United Nations  has sent a letter to the UN Secretary General which  correctly challenges and calls into question the legal basis for the UNSC sanctions against the DPRK which have been repeatedly imposed since 2006 culminating in resolution 2270(S/RES/2270) in March this year .
  The letter asks "The first question is on what is the legal ground for determining the DPRK's nuclear tests and satellite and ballistic rocket launches as a "threat to international peace and security" in the UN Security Council "sanctions resolutions".

Nowhere in related international laws including the UN Charter, the UN General Assembly resolutions, the CTBT, the NPT, the Outer Space Treaty, etc. can we find a single provision that nuclear tests are determined as a "threat to international peace and security".

The second question is why the UN Security Council has never made an issue of nor enforced any sanctions on the United States and other countries regarding their nuclear tests made over 2 000 times, ongoing regular satellite and ballistic rocket launches, if any nuclear test or satellite or ballistic rocket launch is considered as a "threat to international peace and security".

The plain and simple fact of the matter is that  there is no legal basis for the sanctions against the DPRK. Our organistations believe that it is a diabolic outrage that the UN Security Council have imposed so -called 'additional sanctions' on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea  for the mere fact that it refused to submit to the world dictatorship of the US and exercised its sovereignty by launching a satellite and conducting a self defensive H bomb test. These sanctions are a declaration of war and a negation of the DPRK's sovereignty .
   The sanctions are truly unjust and extreme as they include sanctions on the DPRK National Aerospace Development Administration, which is a civilian space agency . This is unprecedented in the history of the UN. These sanctions are a mean attempt by the US and its cohorts to put a spoke in the wheel of socialist construction in the DPRK and stifle the socialist system of the DPRK. 

The UN Security Council should either prove the legal basis for the sanctions or revoke unconditionally. Otherwise the UNSC will be cursed by the world people as a puppet, a marionette of the US, devoid of impatriality . Our organisations strongly support the letter  and demand that the sanctions are lifted at once.
