Anniversary of Xiaohaerbaling Meeting Marked
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- It is 75 years since the Xiaohaerbaling Meeting was convened by President Kim Il Sung in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
The meeting was of weighty significance in bringing earlier the day of Korea's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule.
At that time, the aggressors of Japan worked hard to ensure "security of rear" as part of the efforts to realize its ambition for the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere".
Basing himself on the scientific analysis of the situation, Kim Il Sung convened a meeting at Xiaohaerbaling with attendance of military and political cadres of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.
In the meeting, he set forth strategic lines and policies for positively bringing about the country's liberation.
The lines and policies called for carrying on small-unit guerilla activities in order to maintain the KPRA units, the hardcore forces of the Korean revolution, training the KPRA members to be able political and military cadres and preparing the Korean people politically and ideologically.
With the meeting as an occasion, the anti-Japanese armed struggle developed into a new stage for its final victory and, consequently, Korea was liberated at last on August 15, 1945. -0-
