Report of Meeting of JISGE and ASSPUK to celebrate the 103rd birth anniversary of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and the 50th anniversary of his visit to Indonesia

A lively and upbeat  meeting of the Juche  Idea Study Group of England and the Association was held on April 11th in central London to mark the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and the 50th anniversary of his visit to the Republic of Indonesia . The meeting was attended by members of the JISGE and ASSPUK as well as UK KFA. It was also attended by members of the New Communist Party and also Communist Party of Great Britain Marxist-Leninist. In attendance was a representative of the Embassy of the DemocraticPeople's Republic of Korea . The portraits of the great leaders KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL adorned the meeting.

Dermot Hudson chair of the JISGE opened the meeting. He said that in April there are a number of special anniversaries of the DPRK ;the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, the 3rd anniversary of the election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as First Secretary of the WPK and First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and on the 25th of April the anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary  Army.

Dermot Hudson said "we remember the great leader President Kim Il Sung on the day of his birth not only as the eternal president and fatherly leader of the Korean people but as an outstanding leader of the international communist movement and a great teacher of the world revolution and the oppressed and toiling peoples of the world."

                              Referring to the 3rd anniversary of dear respected leader

Marshal KIM JONG UN as First Secretary of the WPK and First Chairman of the NDC the speaker said "During the 3 years of  his leadership of the WPK and the National Defence Commission   Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  has shown great energy , determination and dynamism in his roles . Project after project has been completed . Prosperity is rising and the Korean people under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN are rushing towards the goal of a thriving socialist country "

Chairman Dermot Hudson spoke about the 50th anniversary of the visit of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG to the Republic of Indonesia, he said

"During the 1960s the struggle between imperialism and anti-imperialism became very intense . The great leader President Kim Il Sung did all he could to promote the struggle of the newly independent countries against imperialism for independence.
In April 1965 the great leader President Kim Il Sung ,accompanied by comrade Kim Jong Il  paid an official visit to Indonesia in April 1965 in order to set up a new milestone in strengthening friendship, unity and solidarity with the developing countries. The visit was part of the celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of the historic Bandung conference which established the Non Aligned Movement of third world countries."

 Shaun Pickford secretary general of the JISGE made a speech on the work of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL KIMILSUNGIA IS AN IMMORTAL FLOWER THAT HAS BLOOMED IN THE HEARTS OF MANKIND IN THE ERA OF INDEPENDENCE, Comrade Pickford said the speech was made to

officials of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the visit of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG to the Republic of Indonesia where he met President Sukarno. Comrade Pickford gave an explanation of the conditions needed for the cultivation and growth of Kimilsungia . The speaker also said how President Sukarno had proposed to name the flower after the great leader President KIM IL SUNG but the President humbly declined the request but Sukarno insisted saying that " You have rendered enormous services to mankind, so you deserve a high honour." Comrade Pickford said that Kimilsungia is a beautiful flower representing the

aspirations of the Korean people and Juche Idea followers.

               Daphne Liddle  Central Committee member of the New Communist Party and New Worker features editor said that the New Communist Party remembered and respected the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and recalled the meetings between President KIM IL SUNG and Andy Brooks and the late Eric Trevett.

      Dermot Hudson made a presentation on the work " ON SOCIALIST CONSTRUCTION IN THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF KOREA AND THE SOUTH KOREAN REVOLUTION" . The speaker explained that this was the speech made to the Ali Archam Academy of Social Science in Indonesia "The work, I think, serves as very good introduction to the Juche Idea and Korea’s experience in building socialism ... .The work basically sums up the entire historical experience of Korean-style socialism . The speech was made at a time when little was known the experience of the DPRK in constructing socialism , however progressive and revolutionary people throughout especially the third world wanted to know more about the DPRK's experience and about the Juche Idea so that they could learn from it.. this a most excellent speech which I feel has withstood the winds of time . I think it both explains the Juche Idea and the DPRK within the international context as well as the success in building people-centred socialism."

Comrade Yu Kwang Song  of the DPRK Embassy addressed the meeting . He said solidarity is very important and referred to the recent picket organised by UK KFA of the south Korean puppet embassy on March 26th . He said that the US imperialists are hell bent on slandering and demonising the DPRK . The aim of the DPRK is to raise living standards of the Korean people , this requires peace but the US imperialists all the time are creating tension. The DPRK made sincere efforts at dialogue behind the scenes but these were rejected by the US.

Questions and answers with lively discussion followed. Comrade Ryan  of UK KFA said 'thank goodness KFA with a worldwide membership was founded'

Dermot Hudson said it was important to travel to the DPRK for the anniversaries of liberation and Party foundation.

A letter to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.

A display of the DPRK books including the works of  the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, great generalissimo KIM JONG IL and the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well as publications of the JISGE and UK KFA was held.

Excellent refreshments were served.
