The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI), the UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement supporting the press statement of the Director of Department of International Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry which was issued on the 3rd of October ;
Recently the US forced the UN Security Council to hold a meeting behind closed doors to criticse the recent self-defensive missile tests of People's Korea . At the meeting the US and it lackey countries like the UK and France tried to paint the DPRK's test of a hypersonic missile as a some kind of threat to peace and to neigbouring countries , thus wilfully distoring the nature of the missile test which is purely self-defensive . They also claimed that it violated a UN resolution .
As comrade Jo Chol Su, director of the Department of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK points out the DPRK has ' never acknowledged the partial and illegal UN "resolution" that seriously encroaches upon the right to existence and development of sovereign states.' The so-called 'UN resolutions ' that the US and its cohorts refers were totally unjust and a product of both highhandness as well as double standardness . These 'UN resolutions ' were also a grave infringement on the DPRK 's sovereignty so could not be accepted only rejected .
As comrade Jo Chol Su rightly points out the demands for the DPRK to give up its rights to self-defence mean that it is ' expression of its intention not to acknowledge the DPRK as a sovereign state.'. The UN Security Council has also keep quiet about US and south Korean military exercises threatening the DPRK as well as a massive arms build up by south Korea and weapons testing .
As clarified by the recent policy speech of respested Marshal KIM JONG UN that the DPRK will not make any concession in defending its independence .
The press statement of director of the Department of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK warns the UN Security Council that the DPRK will not tolerate its sovereignty being infringed upon and will take countermeasures .
We support the just stand of the DPRK to defend its independence . It is high time that the UN Security Council stopped being a tool and a plaything of US imperialism !
