U.S. Forces Accused of Their Crimes against Humanity in South Korea

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Measure Council for Human Rights in South Korea released an inquiry report on Monday bringing to light the thrice-cursed crimes against humanity and human rights abuses perpetrated by the U.S. aggressor forces for the past 70 years since they occupied south Korea on September 8, 1945.
The report dealt with the hideous moves of the U.S. aggressor forces to infringe upon the political freedom and rights of the south Korean people.
Noting the U.S. forces that landed in south Korea under the mask of "liberator" and "protector" completely stamped out the political freedom and rights of the south Korean people by enforcing a fascist military administration, a follow-up of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea, the report said:
The criminal nature of the U.S. military administration to stamp out the political freedom and rights of the south Korean people was clearly evidenced by the fact that it forcibly dissolved the people's committees, progressive political parties and social organizations and brutally suppressed their peaceful rallies and demonstrations.
The U.S. imperialists dissolved at least 162 political parties and social organizations at the point of bayonet from September, 1945 to late 1949.
They brutally suppressed the just anti-U.S. actions of the south Korean people not to tolerate the colonial rule by the U.S. including the peasants' uprising on Haui Island, South Jolla Province and a peaceful demonstration of workers of the Hwasun Coal Mine in August, 1946, the September general strike and the October popular resistance that year.
The fascist rule of the U.S. military administration found a vivid manifestation in the fact that it mercilessly violated suffrage of the south Korean people to establish a unified democratic, independent and sovereign state and cruelly killed broad popular masses opposed to its moves to establish a neo-colonial ruling system.
The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces massacred more than a million patriots and innocent people for five years from the liberation of Korea on August 15, 1945 till the outbreak of the Korean War.
They suppressed at the point of bayonet the political freedom and rights of the south Korean people in a bid to maintain their colonial ruling system in the postwar period, too.
It is well known to the world that the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces were the arch criminals who militarily backed on the spot the military fascist junta in brutal crackdown upon the righteous struggle of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and reunification including the April 19 Popular Uprising in 1960 and the May 18 Kwangju Popular Uprising in 1980.
The inquiry report disclosed the unprecedented massacre committed by the U.S. imperialists not only in the northern half of Korea but also in every part of south Korea during the Korean War.
The U.S. imperialist aggression forces committed indiscriminate massacre across south Korea in a deliberate and planned way during the Korean War in utter disregard of elementary human ethics and international law.
A typical example of it was the indiscriminate bombing and strafing of more than 400 innocent inhabitants in Rogun-ri, Yongdong County, North Chungchong Province in July 1950.
During the three-year war the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces mercilessly killed more than 1.24 million peaceable people in south Korea only.
During the war the U.S. imperialists dropped germ shells in different parts of south Korea to massacre people there and even after the war they used germ weapons and poisonous chemical weapons, committing unprecedented mass-killings.
A particular mention should be made of their secrete introduction of anthrax germ, dangerous lethal weapon with 95 percent of fatality, to south Korea and their use of south Koreans as guinea pigs for experiments. This was the thrice-cursed crime against humanity aimed to inflict disaster and pain not only on the Korean nation but on other peoples of the world.
The report also referred to the crimes against humanity committed by GIs in south Korea.
They are a group of murderers who shot to death south Koreans regarding them as moving hunting targets, and a group of immoral and corrupt men who made no scruple of wantonly violating the rights, dignity, chastity and even physical lives of south Korean women at will.
GIs turned one million south Korean women into their sexual playthings, a hideous crime against humanity.
Damage GIs did by raping south Korean women and turning them into sexual playthings amounted to more than 100 billion U.S. dollars as of early in the 2000s when calculated with the reparation for the sexual slavery enforced by the Imperial Japanese Army as a standard.
GIs turned south Korean land into their military bases and staged anti-DPRK war exercises, playing havoc with the ecological environment and seriously jeopardizing lives and security of its people.
The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces are creating all sorts of social evils through drug traffic, smuggling and sale, obliterating the national culture by spreading their corrupt Yankee culture and deliberately vandalizing and looting even precious cultural treasures of the Koreans without hesitation.
GIs' hideous crimes are occurring almost every day. But the criminals are allowed to be at large and keep committing such horrible crimes, enjoying extraterritorial privileges under the SOFA, a modern version of slave document.
The crimes committed by the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea against humanity and human rights are too many to enumerate.
The south Korean people can never be free from the colonial slavery as long as no day passes without seeing bitter tears of the people and pro-U.S. lackeys ride roughshod in the area where foreign forces lord it over and sovereignty is trampled down. This is the bitter lesson taught by the history of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces' occupation, concluded the report. -0-
