The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) and the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) today issued a joint statement in support of the statement of Disarmament and Peace Institute of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK of the 30th of April concerning attempts to plug south Korea into the US controlled and led "Missile Defence  " system;

                    Our organisations ,The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) and the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) have always opposed the deployment of THAAD( Theatre High Altitude Area Defence,) as it is a new twist to the Cold War in north east Asia and is a threat to the security, independence and sovereignty of the dignified Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
                    The US imperialists and their south Korean puppets at the recent so-called "Intregrated Defence Dialogue " meeting decided on plans for a "missile defence " system aimed at  allegedly deterring "threat from north's nukes and missiles". Of course this has nothing to do with deterrence but with stifling the DPRK and achieving domination in Asia.
                   As the statement of theDisarmament and Peace Instituteof the DPRK Foreign Ministry says " The U.S. deployment of THAAD in south Korea would result in unilaterally weakening or disabling the deterrent force of strategic forces of neighbouring countries and, consequently, upsetting the existing deterrence balance between the U.S. and surrounding countries. This would spark off mistrust and friction between the surrounding countries and the U.S. and south Korea which allowed its deployment and would entail irretrievable baneful consequences and new danger to the security environment in the region.
    The escalating tension in the region would make the south Korean puppet forces having the shackling "alliance" with the U.S. increasingly dependent on it.
    In the final analysis, through the deployment of THAAD the U.S. seeks to achieve its military purpose and, at the same time, strain the relations between south Korea and surrounding countries to put Seoul under its tighter control."

THAAD is also aimed making huge profits for US imperialist military industrial monopolies such as Lockhead Martin.

We totally condemn the intensified moves to deploy THAAD and support the DPRK's stance of increasing its deterrence in order to deal with this.
