yongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- Kang Sun Nam, minister of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a speech at the military parade held on July 27 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
Noting that the military parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the war victory is held at the square where the people gave cheers of hurrah with joy after reliably defending the country from the armed invasion of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces and groups of its satellite states and winning a great victory 70 years ago, the speaker stressed this is the great honor of the service personnel of the DPRK armed forces and a great auspicious event of all the Korean people.
Different generations, including the persons of merit who significantly contributed to the prosperity of the country, model labor innovators, service personnel, builders in charge of the construction of a new street in the capital city, and youth and students, have gathered here to celebrate the V-Day together with the war veterans, masters of the great years, he said, adding this is a clear confirmation of the firm inheritance of the legitimacy and tradition of victory of the Korean revolution.
Saying that the historic significance of the DPRK's war victory on July 27 is sacred and immortal as it defended the people's dignity and honor and the country's environment for independent development, checked the U.S. imperialists' implementation of strategy for world domination and prevented a new world war to safeguard peace of mankind, he went on:
July 27, our victory day, is very sacred as it brought an end to the imperialist aggression forces' "doctrine of military hardware all-mighty" and proved the might of the Juche theory on ideology that the decisive factor of victory in the war lies in the political and ideological strength of the people and army rallied as one in mind around the revolutionary party.
The 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War is a memorial of history provided by the three years of war which ended in victory for us, and the 70 years in which the victory has been maintained, and today's grand festival is the climax of honor won by the bravery wartime soldiers and their decedents.
The great V-Day gave a clear lesson that those obsessed with anachronistic aggression ambition and avaricious hegemony ambition, not aware of the trend of the times, the change of history and the strength of justice to defend itself, would get nothing but disgraceful defeat.
However, the U.S. imperialist warmongers and the group of traitor Yoon Suk Yeol continue to play dangerous war games that may incite an unprecedented nuclear war in the Korean peninsula, with the use of their military muscle against the DPRK while advocating their megalomaniacal "logic of strength" even at this moment.
The U.S. is intensively forming aggressive military blocs such as "U.S.-Japan-south Korea tripartite military alliance" against the DPRK and other independent countries in the Asia-Pacific region. It plunges the security environment of the DPRK and its surrounding countries into danger, introducing without hesitation NATO, a confrontation mechanism out of the region, into the Korean peninsula.
What merits more serious attention is that the U.S., together with its stooges of the "Republic of Korea" (ROK), is operating the nuclear war mechanism called the "nuclear consultative group" and pushing forward a wicked design for a nuclear war targeting the DPRK at a practical stage.
Now the U.S. imperialists and the traitors of the "ROK" are not hesitating to make reckless remarks, even daring talk about the "end of regime" in our country.
It is high time that the armed forces of the DPRK clarified their mission and duty most vividly at this moment when the aggressive attempt of the hostile forces has reached an extreme phase which becomes completely clear.
We solemnly declare that if they attempt military confrontation as now, the exercise of our state's armed forces will go beyond the scope of the right to defence for the United States of America and the "ROK".
The U.S. imperialists have no room of choice of survival in case they use nuclear weapons against the DPRK.
If the United States of America attempts to use armed forces against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the former will face unimaginable and unforeseen crisis.
We're ready.
The enemy should make a choice.
It is the noble mission of our army to defend the sovereignty and security of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and ensure its territorial integrity.
Our revolutionary armed forces will never tolerate any military acts of encroaching upon the sovereignty and security of the state and will take more offensive armed countermeasure for checking them.
The armed forces of our Republic, remaining faithful to the revolutionary idea and political idea of the Workers' Party of Korea, will add eternal brilliance to their precious honour and traditions on the road to defend the invincibility and vitality of our great state and our system, and will always fight on the same trench with the countries and progressive people who are struggling to defend independence and justice for a peaceful and beautiful world free from aggression, plunder, massacre and destruction.
Saying that the victory in the war is always set in store for us , the speaker stressed that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided by the invincible revolutionary Party and the outstanding leader, will prosper forever and our great people, who are confidently advancing the revolutionary cause of Juche, the cause of socialism, will win eternal victory and glory. -0-
