The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement in support the excellent press statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee (CC)of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) that was issued on the 14th of July;
As it is well known the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) successfully tested a powerful new type of ICBM the Hwasong-pho 18. The DPRK is to be congratulated on this. The test was carried out in order to counter and contain the increasing threats of the US imperialists. Essentially the test was self-defensive in nature and to deter war. It also had no effect on the safety and security of the countries that neighbour the DPRK.
However, the US imperialists arrogantly put the matter on the table of the UN Security Council (UNSC) . The UNSC has become a sort of "No Win, No Fee lawyer " for the US to use its vendetta against People's Korea. In her statement, comrade Kim Yo Jong, vice dept director of the CC of the WPK characterises the UNSC as follows " a confrontation organization destroying the global peace and stability and a new Cold War mechanism totally inclined to the U.S. and the West.". This is indeed very true.
The UNSC supposedly exists to promote peace and security. However, the anti-DPRK actions of the UNSC egged on by the US are actually destabilising peace on the Korean peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region. Moreover, the UNSC is a party to US moves to destroy the DPRK.
Comrade Kim Yo Jong warns that if the US continues down the path of hostility and aggression towards the DPRK it will face serious consequences saying that "The price the U.S. has to pay for its moves against the DPRK will never be low, and I do not conceal the fact that very unlucky things will wait for the U.S."
We urge and demand that the US rolls back its hostile policy towards the DPRK and the UNSC stops acting as an executive agency of the US.
The US must take its nuclear weapons out of Korea as well as withdraw its troops from south Korea !
