Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic of Cuba, on Wednesday.
In the message he extended warm congratulations and militant greetings to the first secretary and the Cuban party, government and people on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the assault on Moncada Barracks in which the Cuban revolutionaries kindled the first torch of armed struggle against the pro-U.S. military dictatorship under the command of Fidel Castro Ruz.
The revolutionary spirit of Moncada created in the struggle for people's freedom and liberation against the imperialist domination and subordination now serves as the ideological and moral source that encourages the fraternal Cuban people to resolutely overcome all sorts of challenges from the hostile forces and manifold difficulties and advance towards a new victory, the message said.
Expressing invariable support and firm solidarity to the Cuban party, government and people that are reliably defending the country, revolution and socialism by inheriting the fighting spirit of the forerunners, the message sincerely wished the first secretary great success in his responsible work. -0-
