Commemorative Coins to Be Minted in DPRK



Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Commemorative coins will be minted in the DPRK on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
A relevant decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK was issued on July 23.
The commemorative coins named "The 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War" will be minted into golden and silver ones.
Relieved in the centre of the front side of golden and silver coins are the Statue of Victory at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and the date of "7.27" with 70 points in a circle around it. Seen on the upper part of the fringe are letters "Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War" and on its lower part the letters "70th Anniversary" and figures of years "1953" and "2023".
Seen in the centre of their back side are letters "Respects to the Great Years". On the upper part are flags of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK and a shield and on the lower part are magnolia blossoms. Relieved on the upper of the fringe are the letters "The Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" and at the bottom the figures implying the fineness, weight and minting year.
The size of the pure-gold coin is 35mm in diameter and 2mm in thickness and that of the pure-silver coin is 40mm in diameter and 3mm in thickness. -0-
