Short Course for Participants in 10th Congress of Youth League Given

Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- A short course for the participants in the 10th Congress of the youth league was given in Pyongyang on April 30.

The short course dealt with the practical issues of making the youth league play its role well as the vanguard of our Party in the implementation of the decisions of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) by bringing about fundamental innovations in the work of the youth league as required by the new stage of the developing revolution.

Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, gave a lecture titled "On making sure that the participants in the congress fulfill their responsibility and duty in the struggle for the implementation of the decisions of the 10th congress of the youth league."

The short course stressed the importance of regarding it as the lifeline of the youth league to thoroughly establish the unified leadership system of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un throughout the youth league.

The speaker underlined the need to intensify the work for establishing the unified leadership system of the General Secretary, deeming it a vital issue related to the destiny of the youth league and the young people and a basic principle of the work and activity of the youth league.

He called for absolutizing the prestige of the General Secretary, defending the prestige in every way and preserving and glorifying the leadership feats of the Party. And he underscored the need to purposefully and scrupulously organize the work for implementing the Party policies and establish iron discipline and order for doing so.

The short course urged the participants in the congress to seriously accept the decisions of the 10th Youth League Congress as the supreme tasks of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League for carrying out the plan and intention of the Party Central Committee. It also called on them to put their heart and soul into the work of the youth league with a determination to have loyalty and executive ability proved through practical struggle.

The lecturer urged all the youth league organizations and their officials to conduct the political work in a unique manner so as to touch the young people, scrupulously organize the work for implementing the five-year plan, and display high control ability, effective leadership and strong executive power of the youth league officials. And he stressed the need for the entire Party and the whole society to positively help the youth league work and pay much attention to the youth education.

The short course underlined the need for the entire youth league to deeply study the letter sent by Kim Jong Un to the congress and thoroughly carry out the important tasks advanced in the letter so as to bring about a great revolutionary turn in the work of the youth league. -0-
