                          London 9th of March 2015
The UK Korean Friendship Association strongly supports the Appeal "Let’s Launch More Vigorously an International Solidarity Movement For the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea" issued by the  Asia-pacific regional committee for supporting Korea's Reunification issued on the 8th of March 2015.
This year 2015 will see the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation  as a result of the 20 year anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . The liberation of Korea was a tumultuous event in Korea's history that heralded a new dawn of independence , an era in which the Korean people began a new life as master of their fate. However regrettably Korea's liberation saw the division of Korea by outside forces chiefly the US imperialists who are the sworn enemy of the Korean people. This will also see the 65th anniversary of the provocation of the Korean
War by the bloody-thirsty aggressive Yankee imperialists.

It is quite appropriate and fitting that a worldwide mass movement for solidarity with Korean reunification should be waged . The struggle to get US troops withdrawn from the south of Korea should be stepped up. It is our own opinion in UK KFA that more should be done to expose the crimes of US colonial rule in south Korea and the fascist nature of the south Korean puppet regime.
Moreover the constant threats , pressure and sanctions against People's Korea should be campaigned against  as well the incessant slander against the socialist system of the DPRK including the so-called "human rights "campaign against the DPRK.
The Appeal rightly sees the struggle for Korean reunification within the broader context of the struggle for world peace and the building of a new world free from domination and intervention by imperialism.

We are please to support this appeal
