Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) issued a statement Tuesday to denounce the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises.
The statement branded their reckless north-targeted war maneuvers as a grave act aimed at provoking a war at any cost and a blatant challenge to the aspiration and desire of all Koreans for peace and reunification.

It said that Pomminryon would take the lead in the sacred war of justice to defuse the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and achieve the peace and independent reunification of the country hand in hand with all Koreans at home and abroad.
It stressed that the entire Korean nation including organizations of people of all social standings in south Korea and overseas should rise up in the patriotic struggle for reunification to resolutely smash the moves of the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet forces for confrontation and war moves, safeguard the peace of the country and the security of the nation and bring about great changes and innovations in the inter-Korean relations this significant year marking the 15th anniversary of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation to open up a wide avenue to independent reunification. -0-
