"A typical band D council tax bill of £1,530 this year would rise by £46
next year to fund social care, on top of a discretionary general
increase of 2%." this is capitalist Britain's way of funding care for
the elderly. A measure that I suspect will prove extremely divisive as
it pits the old against the young and middle aged. What is needed a
socialist solution to the elderly care crisis which would consist of
redistributing wealth . The billions in City banks and hedgefunds could
pay for the costs of funding welfare for the elderly rather than forcing
workers to pay more taxes.
In the Juche and socialist DPRK, the
people's paradise, there is no taxation but the DPRK provides wonderful
facilities for the elderly such as this rest home
