Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee
released a statement on Saturday lashing out at the anti-DPRK
"sanctions resolution No. 2321" the U.S.-led hostile forces cooked up by
abusing the name of the UNSC on Nov. 30.
The "resolution" once again proved that the UNSC, obliged to regard
it as its mission to ensure the rights to independence and existence of
member states, has been reduced to a nominal puppet international body,
the statement said, and went on:
The Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee clarifies the following
principled stand of the DPRK in connection with the fact that the
U.S.-led hostile forces conspired with each other to deny outright the
legitimate rights of the DPRK, a justice-loving sovereign state, and
persist in their reckless moves to isolate and stifle it:
We resolutely reject the UNSC "sanctions resolution" against the DPRK as an unheard-of hideous provocation to it.
The "resolution" reflecting the U.S. inveterate repugnance toward
the DPRK is the worst-ever violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK. It
stretches out its tentacles to even the sector of the living of the
people in the DPRK under the signboard of "filling the gaps" of the
"sanctions" imposed in the past on it.
It is self-evident that such "resolution" invented by the U.S.-led
hostile forces, which totally deny the sovereignty and vital rights of
the DPRK, will enrage its army and people.
It is the principled stand of the DPRK that if the "sanctions
resolution" adopted by the UNSC is attributable to the nuclear weapons
and rockets just as claimed, the U.S. should first face the harshest
sanctions as the very one chiefly responsible for them.
The U.S. is entirely to blame for spawning the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula.
It is none other than the U.S. which compelled the DPRK to emerge as
a nuclear power in the East, possessed of a variety of powerful
rockets.
It will be the supreme and urgent task of the UN to strictly check
the moves of the U.S. wantonly violating peace and security on the
Korean peninsula and in Northeast Asia and keenly seeking a chance to
launch a war.
The army and people of the DPRK will smash the ferocious "sanctions"
by the U.S. and its vassal forces through the toughest counteractions
and thus reliably defend the sovereignty of their country and vital
rights of the nation.
The more desperate moves of the U.S. to infringe upon the
sovereignty of the DPRK and deny outright its rights to existence and
development under absurd pretexts will only spark the latter's tougher
countermeasures and result in imperiling the security of the U.S. and
economic interests of countries to be involved in the sanctions racket.
The world will clearly see that the jungle law-based brigandish
logic pursued by the "sanctions resolution" to wantonly violate the
supreme interests of the DPRK can never work. -0-
