Report of Online Meeting for Victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean People Against the US imperialists

An online  meeting of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , Korean Friendship Association of the UK and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK on  24th of July, at 1600 hours  to mark the 68th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists . The meeting also celebrated the birthday of Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Chairman of KFA UK .

The meeting was attended by officials and members of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , members of KFA UK from Staffordshire , Scotland and the West of England .

Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Chairman of KFA UK said that ‘ In the Western countries there is a lot of myth and mystique surrounding what they like to call the Korean War  or more accurately the Fatherland Liberation War . There are not only myths and distortions about how the war started  but also  as to who won the war .Quite often the war is downplayed or referred to as the unknown war .Sometimes it is referred to as the war before Vietnam... The Fatherland Liberation War ended in victory due to the Juche orientated military tactics, Juche-orientated military thought and Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader supreme commander generalissimo KIM IL SUNG and the sublime heroism of the KPA. The myth of US invincibility was smashed to smithereens in the Fatherland Liberation War.  The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War inspired national liberation and revolutionary movements all over the world to struggle against the colonial system of the US-led imperialists bringing about an era of decline for  US imperialism, an era of anti -imperialism . US imperialism's defeat in Korea preceded its defeat in Vietnam and elsewhere. The Korean people's victory in the Fatherland liberation war was a great contribution to the world revolutionary movement as it showed that US imperialism could be stopped in its tracks and beaten.’

The Chairman of Staffordshire KFA UK branch and secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  said that the Korean people’s great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War heralded a new era anti-imperialist struggle for independence and inspired many struggles for independence and liberation such as the Cuban revolution , the struggle for independence in Algeria as well as Vietnam  27th July was a defining moment in history . He also pointed out that support for People’s Korea and socialist Cuba should be a must and that no one should walk away from this ,anything else is not proletarian or socialist internationalism .

The representative of  KFA UK West of England   said that the Korean people won a great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and that there are many misunderstandings about the Fatherland Liberation War . He pointed out that the boast of the south Korean puppets that they would ‘take breakfast in Haeju , lunch in Pyongyang , and supper in Sinuiju ‘ proved meaningless .

There was a guest appearance by Ben Soton , the tv and film critic of the New Worker newspaper who said he greeted the Korean people on the occasion of the anniversary of their victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Dr Dermot Hudson added to his remarks and the remarks of others  pointing that the US had been the victor in the Second World War and undefeated in 110 wars so it was a great victory for a small country .  General McArthur had boasted that the US troops would be home for Christmas in December 1950 but this proved untrue . He also recalled how McArthur had said to the US troops ‘ Retake Seoul , there are women and girls in Seoul , they will be yours ‘ , a disgusting statement by a US general  which was paralleled by numerous sexual crimes by the US troops in Korea.

The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea paid tribute to Dr Dermot Hudson on his 60th birthday saying that “Despite all the odds Comrade Dermot Hudson has remained true to his revolutionary principles throughout the entire of his activities to promote the Juche Idea, overcame the attacks and slanders of the reactionaries, modern revisionists, the ultra-left, and dogmatists. Comrade Dermot Hudson has made an immense contribution to the theory and practice of Juche with his numerous books and articles, and daily contributions on Facebook. The Kimilsungists-Kimjongilists of Britain and the Juche Adherents of the World salute the life and work of Doctor Dermot Hudson!
