The Secret of Single-hearted Unity

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is the country where the entire population is firmly rallied behind the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea.

What is the secret of the WPK that has achieved the single-hearted unity?

This summer South Hwanghae Province in the western part of the DPRK suffered the damage from flooding and Typhoon No. 8.

Chairman Kim Jong Un of the WPK personally went to the spot, where the aftereffects of the typhoon were yet to be removed, and gave instructions to the departments of the WPK Central Committee to be enlisted in the projects of restoring farmland and crops in the province.

True to his instructions, officials of the WPK Central Committee prepared aid materials overnight, and went to the damaged areas as soon as the dawn broke.

From that day, they shared board and lodging together with the local farmers and carried on the restoration work with them.

During break they would sit on corn straw with the farmers, hearing what they had to say and explaining the Party’s policies to them.

They looked around the farmers’ houses, placing new tiles on their roofs whose old tiles had been blown away by the typhoon and straightening up their fallen fences.

Officials who went to a farm built a concrete bridge in the place of stepping-stones over a stream while doing the restoration work.

Grateful to those officials from the WPK Central Committee, the farmers prepared special foods for them, but the latter would refuse them and have the same foods with the farmers.

Like this, the WPK has always been among the people and shared weal and woe with them. It is the original people-friendly features of the WPK that it goes to the people nearer whenever they experience difficulties and sufferings.

Chairman Kim Jong Un defined that the people-first principle is the essence of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the guiding ideology of the WPK, and that the mode of its existence is to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

All the WPK’s lines and policies are set up and all its activities are conducted in this direction.

It is quite natural that the people absolutely support and follow it with one mind and will.

The scene of the houses built better than the former ones in the regions severely destroyed by successive flooding and typhoon and the people moving to these houses dancing and shouting Long Live the Workers’ Party of Korea left deep impression on the international community.
