An online meeting(via Skype) was held to commemorate the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and the significant December anniversaries of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) .
The meeting was held on the 12th of December and started at 14.30hours GMT. It was participated in by members of the UK Korean Friendship Association and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London . West Country . Stoke On-Trent . Liverpool. Birmingham and East Midlands . Also participating was the representative of KFA Finland and guests from Germany and Poland . Written contributions to the meeting were received from the Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland and the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics , which were read out. Peter Seivewright the musician sent a short message of greetings to the meeting.
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of UK KFA and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, introduced the meeting saying it is important to remember comrade KIM JONG IL , the great leader of the Korean people .He also said it was the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and UK .Other significant anniversaries of the DPRK fall in December such as the 29th anniversary of the appointment of comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander the KPA , the 9th anniversary of the appointment of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Supreme Commander of the KPA and the 103rd anniversary of the birth of anti-Japanese heroine KIM JONG UK .
Dr Hudson read out the message from the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics which read in part “the great comrade Kim Jong Il passed away 9 years ago. I remember the date with great sadness. His death is reminiscent of the great acts of his life - which make him immortal. As Supreme Commander of the People's Army, he resolutely eliminated US war ambitions and opened the way for the Korean Revolution for the future supreme commander Kim Jong Un to further elevate the Korean people's spirit of defense and socialism. I believe that discussions on this subject should bear fruit among you, dear comrades.”
The message from the Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland said in part
“Chairman KIM JONG IL during the Arduous march, made Songun Politics the spearhead of the revolution, with members of the Korean People’s Army being attached to every part of the revolution from working in the farms, and construction whilst retaining the independence of Korea. This success makes Korea the unstoppable country it is today with Respected Supreme Leader Marshal KIM JONG UN leading the way forwards with the people firmly behind him. “
Dr Hudson spoke about the life of the great comrade KIM JONG IL saying that “Comrade Kim Jong Il was a leader of extraordinary ability and fortitude. His accomplishments and achievements span many different fields and sectors from culture to military affairs. He was best known to the world people as the great defender of socialism and independence and the leader who developed the Juche idea and Songun idea. Indeed the name of comrade Kim Jong Il is intimately bound up with the administration of Songun (army-first )politics.
Comrade Kim Jong Il defended and developed the purity of the Juche Idea . He systematised and enriched the Juche idea in his historic 1982 thesis "On the Juche Idea ". This work constitutes an almanac of the Juche idea which clarified its philosophical essence and that man has independence, consciousness and creativity. Thus the Juche idea shines out a philosophy for achieving the independence of the popular masses . The Juche idea is a powerful weapon for achieving human emancipation from all kinds of misery and oppression
Comrade Alan Bolon , representative of West of England UK KFA and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, read out a short speech on the work of comrade KIM JONG IL ‘ On Having a Correct Understanding of Nationalism “ . He explained it was a very important work that denounced false nationalism , bourgeois nationalism and explained the difference between progressive nationalism and bourgeois nationalism .
Referring to the 29th anniversary on the 24th of December of the appointment of comrade KIM JONG IL as supreme commander of the KPA Dr Hudson said ‘Thus the 24 years of leader's Kim Jong Il's command of the Korean People's Army were years of great achievements in which the KPA has been strengthened greatly . Because of the decisive role of the anti-imperialist military front there have been victories in other fields such as the economy and culture .We recall these achievements “
It is also the 9th anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Supreme Commander of the KPA on the 30th of December Dr Hudson said that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN successfully led the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK and faced down the hostile forces . He strengthened the self-defensive capacity of the DPRK enabling it to be able to negotiate directly with the US .
Dr Hudson praised the exploits of the great anti-Japanese heroine Madame KIM JONG SUK who was born 103 years ago on the 24th of December . He said that “ The life and achievements of Madame KIM JONG SUK are indeed very great so that the Korean people and revolutionary peoples of the world study and uphold them”
Concerning the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Britain and the DPRK Dr Hudson said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and UK was a great victory for the independent policy of the DPRK.
KFA Finland made a short speech greeting the meeting and wished KFA well in its endeavours.
KFA Staffordshire brought greetings to the meeting.
Discussions were held about DPRK-US relations , about the Songun policy as well as planning future activities.
A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .
