Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- The forthcoming August 15 marks the 75th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule.
The credit for the national liberation goes to President Kim Il Sung who launched an anti-Japanese war through all-people resistance with the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) as the core.
The President set forth an original line on armed struggle, proceeding from the independent stand that the Korean revolution should be carried on by the Korean people themselves in keeping with the specific conditions of their country. And he founded the KPRA, the first revolutionary armed forces in Korea, on April 25, Juche 21 (1932), which was the motive force leading armed struggle, the main current of anti-Japanese national liberation movement.
The anti-Japanese war was a very arduous struggle unprecedented in the world history of wars since it had to be fought with neither state-backing home front nor assistance of a regular army against the Japanese imperialist aggression troops armed to the teeth.
In those days, the President lost his parent, younger brother and revolutionary comrades and had to cross the deadline often and experience an arduous march of 100 odd days. And he created such guerilla tactics as the tactic of marching a long distance at one step and the telescope tactic to inflict crushing defeat on the Japanese imperialist aggressors at every battle.
Under his guidance, the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland, an anti-Japanese national united front, came into being and many secret bases, temporary secret bases and armed resistance organizations were established in different parts of the country to lay a military foundation for all-people resistance in the rear of the enemy.
When the KPRA units launched a general offensive combined with all-people uprising, the Japanese imperialists could not but declare the unconditional surrender on August 15, 1945.
As seen above, Kim Il Sung is the legendary hero of the anti-Japanese war and the savior of the national restoration and his undying feats will shine forever in the history of the country. -0
