Guidelines for Building New Korea

 Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung delivered a historic speech "On Building the Party, State and Armed Forces in the Liberated Homeland" to the military and political cadres on August 20, Juche 34 (1945).

In his speech, he set forth an idea on constantly advancing the Korean revolution and building a prosperous and independent sovereign state by the efforts of the Korean people themselves on the basis of success achieved in the historic cause of national liberation and the three tasks for building the party, the state and the army.

He stressed the need to found a party, the general staff of the Korean revolution and the vanguard of the working class, and develop it into the mass party deeply rooted among the popular masses, form a democratic national united front embracing all the democratic forces and establish a people's power based on it, and build a regular revolutionary armed forces for defending the country and the nation and the gains of the revolution.

His speech was the guidelines for building new Korea as it showed the road for advancing and defending the Korean revolution by the Korean people themselves under a new circumstance of national liberation from Japan's colonial rule.

Under his leadership, a revolutionary party of Juche type was founded on October 10, 1945, the Korean People's Army on February 8, 1948 and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948. -
