An online meeting of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , UK Korean Friendship Association , Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland was held to mark the 75th anniversary of Korea’s liberation as well as the 60th anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership and 51st anniversary of the foundation of the AINDF . The meeting was held on the 15th of August at 1400 hours and was participated in by members of UK KFA , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland and also important British cultural figures . A written speech was received from the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics. Greetings were received from KFA Italy , KFA Serbia and KFA Spain.
Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and chairman UK KFA said that it is appropriate to celebrate both the 75th anniversary of Korean independence along with the 60th anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership because Korea’s independence is guaranteed by Songun .
Dr Hudson said that “ The hard and arduous revolutionary armed struggle led by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG paid off in the end on the 9th of August 1945 general KIM IL SUNG gave the order for the final offensive against the Japanese marauders . The KPRA together with Soviet army units surged into Korea , the KPRA often taking the lead in the more difficult battles. On August 15 1945 Korea was liberated at last from Japanese imperialist rule. 36 years of dark oppressive rule by the fascist Japanese and their decadent Samurai culture came to an end in a day . This was the feat of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, an ever victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist’
Referring to the Day of Songun he said that “Thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of President KIM IL SUNG and eternal Chairman KIM JONG IL , DPRK became a strategic state’
The Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland in their contribution said that ‘The heroic exploits by the Korean people serve as a model even to this very day! The spirit of the heroic soldiers who fought for Korea’s freedom is displayed in today’s generation of Socialist Koreans who are fighting for their independence but this time against the criminal and inhumane sanctions against the proud Korean people.
The Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland remembers those soldiers who gave their life for the freedom of Korea.’
Shaun Pickford of Stafforshire KFA and Stoke on Trent branch of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that ‘The Staffordshire Korean Friendship Association greets the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Korea. Our branch demands that the Japanese Government makes amends for its crimes against the Korean people committed during the occupation and express true regret and payout adequate compensation to the Korean nation. We call upon all peace-loving and progressive people to campaign for reunification in Korea and for peace on the Korean peninsula, for solidarity with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and for an end to all sanctions against the DPRK!”
The contribution of the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics stated that “Today, we remember all the war heroes that died fighting for their own country and nation in this war. Today, we remember comrade Kim Il Sung, with his great leadership, that was and still is a model to several countries and people all around the world. Today, we remember that imperialism should be defeated, for people to be self reliant. Today, we glorify Juche and the Songun politics!’
British cultural figure Peter Seivewright said that Japanese colonialism was the worst ever form of colonialism . Korea’s independence was a great gain of the Korean people .
Dr Hudson referred to his visit to the DPRK in August recalling the celebrations .
Dr Hudson spoke about the 51st anniversary of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea which also falls on August 25th . The AINDF was formed as the Revolutionary Party for Reunification in 1969 and upholds the Juche Idea, UK KFA is proud to have relations with the AINDF.
A message to Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
Some discussions were held about improving the work of UK KFA and the British Group for the Study of Juche Idea.
