Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Inspects Preparations for Building Onpho Greenhouse Farm









Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to the preparations for construction of the Onpho Greenhouse Farm in Kyongsong County of North Hamgyong Province.

One month ago he visited Kyongsong County to appoint the site for a large-scale greenhouse farm capable of raising all sorts of vegetables all the year round. He came to the spot again to guide the preparations for its construction.

He acquainted himself with the layout and present situation of the greenhouse farm and toured the area in person.

He called for giving priority to the scientific calculation to build the farm at the best level to be flawless in the aspects of not only architectural beauty but also practical utility.

He gave instructions to turn the area into the one in which the Party's popular and patriotic policies are embodied by adding to the area a modern tree nursery similar to the Tree Nursery No.122 of the Korean People's Army or the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery, given the huge site for the greenhouse farm.

Underscoring the need to build the greenhouse farm at the best level by working out the most reasonable plan to suit the specific conditions of our country on the basis of the world's trend of the development of science and technology and in-depth research into the advanced scientific and technical data on greenhouse farming, he set forth tasks and ways for it.

He said that the province should give precedence to the work of creating ranks of officials, technicians and employees of the greenhouse along with the construction of the greenhouse and tree nursery so that production and operation can be started straight away after the completion of the construction.

The construction of the modern Onpho Greenhouse Farm in Kyongsong County is an important work for bringing benefits to the diet of the people in North Hamgyong Province, he said, calling for finishing the construction of the greenhouse and tree nursery at an early date and converting the area into a "gold land" so as to prove the validity and vitality of the Party's policies in practice and give full play to them.

Being told that graduates from Chongjin University of Agriculture advanced to the farm before all others upon the news of construction of a modern greenhouse farm in Kyongsong County, he was very pleased and taught to give high appreciation of them.

Accompanying him were Hwang Pyong So, first vice department director of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, Jo Yong Won, O Il Jong, Pak Song Chol and Kim Yong Su, vice department directors of the C.C., WPK, Kim Chang Son, department director of the State Affairs Commission, and Ma Won Chun, bureau director of the SAC. -0
