Japanese Militarists Condemned for Going against Climate of Peace

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Ra Myong Song, a researcher of the Institute for Japan Studies, in an article contributed to Rodong Sinmun Friday, said that when the atmosphere of peace, stability and reconciliation is prevailing in Northeast Asia centering on the Korean peninsula, Japan is going against it.

According to the article, the Japan Defense Ministry has planned to increase the budget for military expenditure for the fiscal 2019 to the scale unprecedented in history and entered a full-scale stage for shaping it.

The article said:

Japan has staged the multinational maritime exercises involving Australia and other countries on the basis of the "Proliferation Security Initiative".

All these are openly committed under the pretext of "urgent threat" from the DPRK.

This is a dangerous provocation of the Japanese militarists going against the climate of peace created by the DPRK's peace-loving will and active efforts.

It is no more than a foolish trick to realise ambition for a military giant and overseas expansion and the old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" which the ancestors left unaccomplished.

The world is sincerely desirous of the end of the technical state of war and the settlement of durable peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. It wants to see the ever-growing atmosphere of reconciliation and the improvement of relations.

But the Japanese reactionary ruling quarters set themselves against it.

They are making desperate efforts to pave the way for the chariot of militarism by continuously creating confrontational phase on the Korean peninsula.

Japan's military spending is on the steady rise. Especially, the military spending has broken the previous record every year ever since the coming of heinous militarist Abe into power.

The sphere of military operation by the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" is spreading to the Indian Ocean as well as to the Pacific Ocean. The present constitution still remains only and one hurdle. The Abe ruling forces are running amuck to revise it to turn Japan into a war state.

The Japanese militarists should be mindful that if they go reckless to throw a wet blanket over the atmosphere of reconciliation and cooperation created on the Korean peninsula with a wild ambition for reinvasion, they are bound to meet their doom. -0-
