While hailing north Korea’s participation in the Winter Olympics, civic organizations including the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the Progressive Solidarity have made joint support the north and the south of Korea teams, held rallies and press conferences.
Shouting “We are one!” and “Our nation itself”, they waved reunification flags to rev up the climate for inter-Korean reconciliation and unity.
South Korean homepages posted their feeling of art performance and cheering team of north Korea.
However, the conservative forces including the Liberty Korea Party and the Korean Patriotic Party have made desperate bid to block the trend of hard-won inter-Korean relations.
Some days ago, the ultraconservatives including the Korean Patriotic Party called a rally to release venomous remarks against north Korea’s participation in the Winter Olympics.
The Liberty Korea Party has spouted a torrent of vituperation “camouflaged peace offensive” in connection with north Korea’s participation in the Winter Olympics to lay bare its true color of confrontation maniac.
In this regard, civic organizations of various circles are inflamed with surging indignation against the conservative forces which have made last-ditch efforts to jeopardize inter-Korean ties in tandem with the foreign forces chanting “Stop all actions against the Olympics”, “evil force, get out” and “Censure pro-U.S. conservatives hampering the Olympics” in the rallies across south Korea.
Ludicrous racket of inter-Korean confrontation made by the ultraconservatives, who are steeped in dependence on outsiders and treachery and enmity toward compatriots, will only invite self-ruin.
