 The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK) ,British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJ) , the Korean Friendship Association UK ( KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP)today issued the following joint statement about the speech made by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN at the military parade held to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA ) , the forerunner of today 's Korean People's Army (KPA ) ;

   Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the general secretary of the Workers Party of Party of Korea , President of the State Affairs of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the DPRK made a powerful and profound speech to the military parade to celebrate the 90th of anniverary of the foundation of the KPRA that was held on the 25th of April . 

  In the speech respected Marshal KIM JONG UN elaborated on the deep and meaningful significance of the occasion saying as follows "The founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was an event of national significance that declared a death-defying resistance against imperialism under the unfurled banner of winning national liberation and independence by our own efforts, as well as a historic event that ushered in a new era of the Juche revolution that relies on powerful revolutionary armed forces....

...The major meaning of this event is not confined only to the fact that our people, who were forced to live a pitiable life in the turmoil of history, could have their own national army and the hope of their revival; it also lies in the fact that the event declared at home and abroad the steadfast idea of anti-imperialist revolution of the Korean revolutionaries to settle accounts to the end and by force of arms with those who infringed upon the dignity and sovereignty of our nation and their unyielding will to win the people's freedom and liberation and the revolution's victory without fail by the internal forces."

Indeed the foundation of the KPRA 90 years ago and its subsquent history and development into a standing regular revolutionary armed force , the Korean People's Army , is testimony to the great truth the revolution is advanced and defended by the force of arms which is the core of the Songun idea . In his speech respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  stressed the need to carry forward the traditions and history of the KPRA .

Turning his attention towards the tasks of the present  respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  pointed out that ideology should be a priority saying that "All the Party organizations and political bodies of the People's Army should continue to stoke up the flames of the ideological revolution and focus their all-out effort on cultivating the revolutionary ideology and spiritual strength of the soldier masses." The emphasis on ideology is a source of strength  for today's KPA . Moreover it means that he KPA is qualitatively different to the armies of imperialist countries , capitalist countries and the former socialist countries .

 Marshal KIM JONG UN called for the strengthening of the capablities of the KPA . Today the international situation is very unstable and deteriorating all the time  . Mindful of this respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  stressed that the DPRK ' will continue to take measures for further developing the nuclear forces of our state at the fastest possible speed.' . Moroever whilst the fundamental mission of the DPRK's nuclear forces is to deter war " our nukes can never be confined to the single mission of war deterrent even at a time when a situation we are not desirous of at all is created on this land." This is a most just stand to defend the independence of Juche Korea . It shows that the DPRK is not pacifist or capitulationist  . Any aggressive forces who attempt to invade People's Korea will perish . The speech of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN serves as a warning to the US imperialists not to trifle with the DPRK or attempt to invade the DPRK .

We applaud the speech of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and call for its wide dissemination and study
