An online meeting (through messenger voice conference call) of the UK Korean Friendship Association and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea was held on Sunday 1st of March 2020 at 15.30 hours. It was participated by members of the UK KFA and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London, Stoke On Trent and Peterborough , also by members of the Korean Friendship Association from the north of Ireland and from Greece.
Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of the UK KFA and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea opened the meeting .Firstly ,he spoke about the position and role of women in People's Korea . He said that in People's Korea women had been liberated from the terrible double and triple oppression under feudalism and imperialism . Legalisation guaranteeing the rights of women had been enacted in the DPRK starting with the Law on Sexual Equality in 1946 and other legalisation . He said that women were playing an increasing role in the DPRK and many women were prominent in state affairs. Dr Hudson quoted from the report to the 4th Congress of Korean Democratic Women's Union by Mrs Kim Song Ae and also from the works of President KIM IL SUNG and Marshal KIM JONG UN.Participants in the meeting said that women in the DPRK had been freed from oppression and that it is good that there is no prostitution and pornography in the DPRK that degrades women . In south Korea and the capitalist countries there are many practices degrading women .
Dr Hudson spoke about the 5th plenary meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in December . He explained it put forward the slogan " "Let Us Break through Head-on All the Barriers to Our Advance!" . The DPRK will win victory against the imperialists by increasing self-reliance and self-sufficiency . Moreover self-reliance is the permanent strategy of the Korean revolution . Dr Hudson proposed to draft a resolution for adoption ,
Shaun Pickford secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , head of the Stoke On Trent branch of the group and Chairman of the Staffordshire branch of the UK KFA asked about the recent enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the CC of the WPK . Dr Hudson replied that the meeting had dealt a blow against against anti-people practices , bureaucracy and non-socialist behaviours . Also the meeting discussed measures against COVID-19.
A discussion was held on activism in UK KFA . Meetings are planned for Liverpool and Ipswich . Some interesting suggestions were made for propaganda activity .

This joint online meeting of the UK Korean Friendship Association and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea fully supports the decisions of the 5th plenary meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea(WPK) that was held at the end of December 2019.At that meeting the slogan “"Let Us Break through Head-on All the Barriers to Our Advance!" and a strategy of increasing self-reliance and self-sufficiency was put forward as well a call to combat non-socialist and anti-socialist behaviours.
It is our conviction that the decisions of the 5th plenary meeting of the 7th central committee of the WPK are totally correct . We believe that self-reliance is totally just and is a great truth that inspires further victories in socialist construction.
Guided by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the Korean people will implement the decisions of the 5th plenary meeting of the CC of the WPK and win final victory against imperialism
