In Demand of Implementation of Panmunjeom Declaration
Broad segments of south Korean people are vocal calling for immediate settlement of inter-Korean humanitarian issues after the adoption of the Panmunjeom Declaration for peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
On May 30, civic organizations including the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and the National Women’s Solidarity called a press conference in front of the Ministry of Unification to strongly demand early repatriation of the DPRK restaurant workers and other citizens.
They said that they are awaiting the improvement of inter-Korean relations and rapid settlement of humanitarian issues caused by the national division.
It is good to sit face to face for the reunion of separated families and relatives but, for the present, it is essential to repatriate 12 DPRK restaurant workers and others to their beloved families.
They delivered a letter in demand of early return of the abducted DPRK citizens to the Ministry of Unification.
