Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- The conservative forces of south Korea are making desperate efforts to play down the significance of the historic north-south summit and the Panmunjom Declaration.
They do not hesitate to check the passage of a resolution supporting the declaration at the "National Assembly", slandering the meeting and talks between the top leaders of the north and the south as a "camouflaged peace show" and "feast of words" and the declaration as a "fake peace document".
Their aim is to paint them as peace-loving forces and prolong their remaining days.
The conservative forces, including Hong Jun Phyo who has no elementary national conscience and judgment of the great cause, are seeking to show that they are more important than the north-south summit and the Panmunjom Declaration, an epoch-making event. This is as foolish an act as a worm dreaming of becoming a dragon.
They can never hurl mud at the north-south summit and the Panmunjom Declaration as their historic significance is very great.
The Panmunjom Declaration is a historic document as it solemnly declared that there would be no more war on the Korean Peninsula and a new peace era has begun and the north and the south would usher in a new history of national reconciliation, a fresh era of co-prosperity by pooling their will and efforts.
That's why various circles of south Korea and the international community have expressed support for the north-south summit and the Panmunjom Declaration, praising them as a "great event conducive to the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the region and the rest of the world". Even Americans are appreciating them as a "historic turning point".
In fact, the Panmunjom Declaration is a just and reasonable declaration of the century as it confirms to the desire of the Korean nation and the world progressives' aspiration after peace.
So, the viewpoint and attitude toward the declaration become a touchstone distinguishing the peace-loving force from the peace-disturbing force.
The conservative group of south Korea openly declared that it would remain as ever a war force by blatantly challenging the historic event.
As long as such war maniacs are allowed to exist, genuine peace and stability can never be expected in the Korean Peninsula.
The Korean nation has meted out a merciless punishment to the traitors hell-bent on confrontation with the fellow countrymen and war provocation moves regardless of the desire of the compatriots and the international community.
If the "Liberal Korea Party" and other conservative forces of south Korea continue to go against the great cause of the nation while making desperate efforts, they will finally find themselves in the abyss of ruin. -0-
