KCNA Commentary on Validity of DPRK's Measures to Bolster up Nuclear Deterrence for Self-Defence

 Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is vociferously terming the DPRK's measures for bolstering up nuclear deterrence as "provocations" in the international arena in a bid to give impression that the former is concerned for scrapping nuclear weapons worldwide.
    It was censured for its trite shameful behavior at the recent 4th "Nuclear Security Summit" held in Washington and G-7 foreign ministers' meeting in Hiroshima.
    Foreign media are asserting that the DPRK's nuclear program and tests serve as strong deterrence to cope with the U.S. moves for aggression and the U.S.-south Korea joint military drills are harassing peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and escalating tensions there.
    A deputy editor of the Egyptian newspaper Al－Ahram Al－Misaiya in a commentary titled "Nuclear security and wrong action of the U.S." said that Washington is pressurizing north Korea by channeling all regional and international efforts while describing its nuclear program as a great danger of security and stability in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world. However, the U.S. is feigning ignorance of Israel's nuclear scenario, claiming that it is designed to achieve peace, he noted, adding: This is nothing but an attempt to convince the world that what north Korea acquired is destructive nuclear weapons but what Israel has in place is nukes for peace. The U.S. administration bereft of impartiality had better review its policy over the sensitive international issues, the issue of global security, in particular.
    The U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail and joint military drills are the source of pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of war.
    It has posed a ceaseless nuclear threat to the DPRK, deploying nuclear weapons in south Korea and staging frantic nuclear war drills against the DPRK for over half a century.
    Even at this time the largest-ever U.S.-south Korea nuclear war saber-rattling is under way in south Korea for invading the DPRK.
    Key Resolve joint military drill, a combined command exercise in which all U.S. man-killing nuclear hardware and special operation forces were involved, came to an end but Foal Eagle 16 joint drill, rehearsal for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK under the simulated conditions of an actual war, is going on.
    The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces staged "operation for advancing into inland depth of the north", "operation for occupying Pyongyang", "beheading operation", etc. in the land and seas by mobilizing special operation forces.
    Their nuclear war rehearsal for aggression clearly proves once again what is the root cause of escalating tension on the Korean peninsula.
    The DPRK's access to nuclear weapons is not a threat but an inevitable self-defensive option for protecting the country and nation from the nuclear disaster to be brought by the U.S.
    The DPRK's bolstering of nuclear deterrence is the most just and realistic way for ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula, the biggest hotbed in the world.
    The stronger the striking capability of the DPRK's nuclear weapons grows, the more powerful the capability to deter aggression and war will become.
    Nothing can deny the validity of the DPRK's measures to bolster up its nuclear deterrence for self-defence. -0-
