The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held the 6th reading session on the booklet “ Understanding Korea -volume 9 Human Rights “ at 1900 hours BST on the 18th of August 2025 via Telegram
Participating were KFA UK officials , members and activists from London, Scotland and other parts of the UK as well as guests from KFA Germany , the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and some other countries .
Dr Hudson read out the sections of the booklet “ Understanding Korea -Volume 9 Human Rights “ which deal with the questions of dissemination of human rights knowledge in the DPRK and the implementation of different provisions for human rights in the DPRK.
Dr Hudson stressed that the freedom of speech , press , assembly and religious belief is guaranteed in the DPRK . He pointed out that in capitalist countries which boast of so-called “freedom “ , the press is controlled by the giant capitalist monopolies and rich people can suppress stories that they do not like through libel and defamation laws.
During the discussion it stressed that in the DPRK the church is separated from the state unlike some Western countries .
The session concluded at 19.50 hours BST.
