BGSJI and KFA UK support statement of KPA General Staff titled "The situation of the ROK clouded with powder smoke will further bolster the full readiness of our army"

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and  the Korean Friendship Association  of  the UK  KFA UK  ),)issued the following joint statement in support of  the press statement made by the spokesman of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA ) of the 22nd of August which was titled "The situation of the ROK clouded with powder smoke will further bolster the full readiness of our army":

Despite warnings from the DPRK and the condemnation of many progressive and peace loving people and  organisations throughout the world , the US imperialists and the fascist ROK puppets went  ahead with the provocative and aggressive " Ulji Freedom Shield " war exercise which started on the 18th of August . This exercise is not defensive and has nothing with "freedom " but everything to do with regime change and overthrowing the socialist system of the DPRK . It is aimed at a pre- emptive attack on the DPRK .

As the spokesman of the General Staff of the KPA correctly states "The gravity and danger of the drill lie in the fact that it includes the application of "OPLAN 2022", a war scenario simulating "preemptive strike against origin" as regards the nuclear facilities of the DPRK, and various kinds of exercises staged by forces and mechanized strike groups of regimental-level and above to maneuver in attacking formation and fire live shells."

What is particularly significant is that armed forces of members of the so-called "UN Command " , including Britain , are participating in the war exercises which means that "Uli Freedom Shield " has now become a multi-national war exercise instead a joint US-ROK war exercise and that a so-called "coalition of the willing " is being assembled to attack the DPRK .

 We strongly condemn the presence in south Korea  of ships from the British Royal Navy .

The Korean peninsula has become the potential flashpoint for a Third World War because of the presence of armed forces of so many different countries .

The DPRK is correct to declare that it will take self-defensive measures against the continuing threats and aggression of US imperialism and its ROK puppets.
