On the forthcoming 8th of February, it will be the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Army, by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, as the regular and standing revolutionary armed force of People’s Korea which stands guard over the independence and achievements of People’s Korea such as free health care, free education, full employment and virtually free housing. It is no exaggeration to say the happy lives of the Korean people depend on the bayonets of the People's Army. Moreover, the destiny of world socialism depends on the bayonets of the glorious Korean People's Army(KPA)  commanded by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN. The KPA stands guard on the front line between imperialism and socialism. The DPRK is the fortress of genuine socialism in the world. That is why the US imperialists want to invade and crush the DPRK, it is part and parcel of their strategy to eliminate socialism from the face of the earth.

The 8th of February 1948 marked the transformation of the Juche-based guerrilla force, the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army(KPRA ), into a regular armed force, the Korean People’s Army (KPA). The KPRA had been founded on the 25th of April 1932 and had fought the Japanese imperialists for more than a decade. The KPA carried forward the traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle created by the KPRA under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG.

 

The KPA was actually formed before the foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). This was fully in line with the Songun (army first ) idea.

Under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG, Chairman KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN the KPA has travelled along the road of brilliant victory. The KPA was and is based firmly on the Juche idea and embodied the Juche Idea. It upholds the Juche view on war that it is people that decide the outcome of the war and that ideology plays a decisive role.

During the great victorious Fatherland Liberation War the regular revolutionary armed force of the DPRK, the Korean People's Army fought against the US imperialists and their south Korean puppets and also troops from 15 satellite states of US imperialism such as the UK. The KPA fought in the spirit of self-reliance using original Juche-based tactics and Songun-based tactics. The ever-victorious KPA, commanded by President KIM IL SUNG  was able to liberate 90 per cent of the territory of south Korea and 92 per cent of the population in just two months. This is in contrast to a big country with a long history of warfare which after 11 months has not been able to de-nazify and demilitarise a certain regime that is on its doorstep. The KPA and Korean people defeated the US imperialists who lost over 1,567,000 men, including more than 405,000 of their own armed forces, and an enormous amount of combat equipment and war supplies, including over 12,200 aircraft, more than 560 warships and ships, over 3,200 tanks and armoured vehicles of different types, more than 13,350 trucks and 7,690 artillery pieces of various types.US general Clark wearily concluded that he was the first US commander to sign an armistice without a victory.

After the Korean war, the US imperialists continued their provocations against the DPRK but were smashed each time by the heroic KPA under the command of the great revolutionary leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG. He put forward the line of building the economy and defence in parallel in 1962 Also in 1963 President KIM IL SUNG put forward the revolutionary slogan ‘"Match for a Hundred’ which meant that every KPA soldier should be able to fight a hundred enemy soldiers and defeat them.

The KPA triumphed over the US  imperialists in the ‘Pueblo incident’ in 1968 'The EC121 incident in April 1969’, ‘The Panmunjom incident’ in 1976 and the 1994 helicopter shoot-down incident.  During the intense confrontation with US imperialism in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s over the nuclear issue the KPA under the command of Chairman KIM JONG IL and later respected Marshal KIM JONG UN faced down the US imperialists. The KPA also won a great victory at Yongphyong Island in 2010. The KPA has strongly defended the sovereignty and independence of People’s Korea without deflection or concession.

   

The KPA is equipped with modern weaponry including nuclear weapons and ICBMS. The DPRK crossed the nuclear finishing line with pride and honour thanks to Juche and self-reliance. The DPRK's nukes and ICBMs are 100 per cent made and designed in the DPRK. The DPRK's nukes are nukes of Juche. Sanctions cannot crush the invincible KPA of Juche and Songun!

The 75 years of the Korean People’s Army have been 75 years of victory over imperialist foes and aggressors thanks to the Juche-based and Songun-based commanding ideas, theories and tactics of President KIM IL SUNG, Chairman KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN!
